Ah yi had never known how her father had died.
After that day she had never once saw him and when he was assumed dead, Ah yi hadn't doubt it because if he was alive then he would have come for her no matter what.
She had only wished that he had a peaceful death.
But her wishes were never heard because neither was he dead, neither was anything in his life peaceful.
Because he had been suffering for years without her knowledge.
"My father is alive" she whispered, the words sounding foreign to her, but what she saw in the file was enough proof.
Jungkook had gasped loudly and checked the file himself, when his eyes widened too at the information.
While Ah yi just stared into the space with many thoughts.
This was too overwhelming for her.
Should she be glad that he was alive or guilty that she let him suffer all these years, when she was safely tucked in the bed.
But more than that, she was angry. Furious.
She could, she would gauge Yoon Seunghwa's eyes with her bare hands.
She swore she will give him the worst death.
Yi....Jungkook called out to her softly, as he watched her zone out as the girl turned towards him, looking at him with her glassy orbs.
He was alive. All this time he was alive! HE WAS ALIVE AND I DIDN'T HAVE ANY IDEA. I let him suffer. What kind of daughter let her father suffer for years. How-
Yi stop! Jungkook was the one to cut her off, while raising his voice because he couldn't stand it.
He couldn't stand her blaming herself when she had no idea about this.
Did you knowingly let him suffer?
N-o
"Then stop it Ah yi. You are not the one to be blamed. It was not you" he said, his voice coming out softer as Ah yi sniffled before nodding.
