An AU where the apocalypse brought two teens together.

Kyle woke up to the sound of screams. He bolted up from his bed and looked outside the window. He saw people running in the streets, and he could hear the sounds of the undead. The zombie apocalypse had finally arrived.

Kyle was a 16-year-old boy who lived with his parents and brother in a small town, South Park, Colorado. He had heard stories of the zombie apocalypse but had never thought it would happen to him. He quickly got dressed and went to check on his parents.

When he opened his parents' door, he found his mother, Sheila, sitting on the bed, crying. His father was nowhere to be seen.

"Mom, where's dad?" Kyle asked.

"He went out to see what was happening. He hasn't come back yet," his mother replied.

"We have to find him," Kyle said as he grabbed a baseball bat from his room.

Together, they ventured out into the streets, trying to find Kyle's father, Gerald. The streets were chaotic, and people were running in all directions. The smell of death was everywhere. They saw zombies attacking and eating people, and it was clear that the town was lost.

As they walked, they heard a familiar voice. It was Kyle's father, screaming for help. They followed the sound and found him cornered by a group of zombies. Kyle rushed in, swinging his bat, and managed to fend off the zombies.

"Let's go," Kyle said, as he helped his father up.

They ran back to their house, which had already been breached by zombies. They barricaded the doors and windows, hoping that it would hold.

Days turned into weeks, and the zombie apocalypse continued to rage on. Kyle, his parents, and brother had managed to survive by staying in their house and conserving resources. They had rationed their food and water, and only went out when they needed to scavenge for supplies.

One day, while Kyle was out scavenging, he heard a voice calling for help. He followed the sound and found a girl, about his age, trapped in a car.

"Please help me," she said, as Kyle approached.

He recognized her as Y/N, a girl from his school who he had never talked to before. Kyle quickly broke the car's window and pulled Y/N out.

"Thank you," Y/N said, as she caught her breath.

"Are you okay?" Kyle asked, as he looked at her injuries.

"I'm fine, just a scratch." Y/N said, as she wiped the blood from her forehead.

"Come with me," Kyle said, as he offered her his hand.

They made their way back to Kyle's house, where his parents welcomed them. They were skeptical of bringing someone new into their home, but they could see that Y/N was just a scared girl, like them.

Kyle and Y/N became fast friends, and Kyle found himself drawn to her. She was strong, brave, and had a kind heart. They spent their days together, scavenging for supplies and fortifying their home.
