Chapter 5:Meet and Greet

The main three Avengers as well as Robert were walking onto the bridge of the Helicarrier. Steve marvelled at the interior. A large oval room with railings on the top floor and rows of computers and workers monitoring the Helicarrier's systems. while Bruce looked around to see if he could find an easy exit if the worst should happen. He walked over to a door and saw two guards posted, so he quickly turned back around.

Robert was watching the workers run around and do different flight checks and saw the beautiful Agent Maria Hill supervising the work done by the flight techs.

She looked towards Fury who was posted up in the middle of the room overlooking multiple screens and said "We're at level Sir."

"Good. Let's vanish."

The Helicarrier's retro reflective panels engaged, and they were camouflaged into the sky.

Fury turned around and looked at Steve, Bruce, and Robert sitting and standing near the round table that was behind him.

"Gentleman."

Robert saw Steve walk up to Fury and hand him a ten dollar bill. (Looks like Fury won the bet haha. That means that this is the MCU and not an AU. At least for now that is what it looks like).

Fury walked towards Bruce and offered his hand and said "Doctor, Thank you for coming."

"Thanks for asking nicely, so uhh, how long am I staying?"

"Once we get our hands on the tesseract, you're in the wind"

"Where are you with that?"

Coulson answered and said "We're sweeping every wirelessly accessible camera on the planet. Cell phones, laptops, you name it. If it's connected to a satellite, it's eyes and ears for us."

Robert then walked over and said "You have to narrow your field. You're tracking for a gamma signature right, so you should narrow the search radius to specifically track gamma rays."

"How'd you know we were tracking a gamma signature?" Hill asked off to the side.

"Why else would you have invited the world's leading expert on gamma radiation to help locate the "cube" as you call it?" I proffered.

Bruce rose his brows at what Robert said but quickly composed himself and said "He's exactly right. How many spectrometers do you have access to?"

Fury looked over and said "How many are there?"

"Call every lab you know, tell them to put their spectrometers on the roof and calibrate them for gamma rays. I'll make a rough tracking algorithm with basic cluster recognition. That should help to rule out a couple places. Is there some place I can work?"

"Agent Romanoff, can you show Dr Banner to his laboratory please."

"I'd like to join him, I believe I can help expedite the process."

"Very well, two heads are better than one."

Natasha didn't think that someone so young was actually an expert in any field, but regardless she complied.

"Dr, Mr Jackson, This way. You're gonna love it, we got all kinds of toys"

As they were walking towards the lab, Natasha decided to satiate her curiosity and asked Robert "So Mr Jackson, I heard you were an archaeologist, I didn't know you had experience in the work done by Dr. Banner?"

"Mr Jackson was my father please, call me Robert."

Natasha noticed his terminology and looked down solemnly.

"I see, when did he die? "

Bruce was confused but Robert just smiled politely.

"My father and Mother died in a plane crash 5 years ago."
