Rydels pov*
The end of summer was approaching, and what a summer it's been. The last month has been different, I've spent everyday happy, with no lonely or sad thought to be found.
After Ratliff and I shared that kiss in my room, things shifted a little, in a good way. We agreed to meet the next day at the same place in the park as before, and we did, and have done so since that day, it's became a coupley tradition. And no we aren't a couple, Sadly, yes we spend everyday together, kiss every odd second, but we aren't in a relationship.
My family seems to enjoy his company just as much as I do, if not more, he fits in like a key in a keyhole. He has an open invitation to every family dinner, and is invited everywhere we go. I am pretty sure be spents more time with my family than I do.
Today we practically spent the day in the pool messing about, I was either thrown in or pushed, now we were all sitting around the campfire my dad set up. Ryland and ross were kicking the life out of each other, and rocky was teaching Riker some cords on his guitar, even though Riker was more of bass kinda guy. Ratliff and I were just sitting together as usual, close but not too close, with our marshmallows burning away in the flames. My mum was giving me the look from across the soaring flames, she knows how much I liked him and keeps egging me to tell him how I feel. I glanced around the circle casually checking nobody was paying attention to us, before I said anything.
"Ell, I have to say this before you--" I start.
"HEY RATLIFF, WE HAVE A WICKED IDEA!" riker screams. Of course someone would interrupt.
Ratliff detaches his eye contact from me and turns to listen to rikers *wicked* idea, so I quickly slip away and sprint through the back doors and into the house before he notices, but I have a feeling he already did.
Ratliffs pov*
"Ell, I have to say this before you--" rydel looked scared but determined as she said this, I really want to know what she's going to say, does she have the same feels as me or does she want to be friends. But suddenly riker enturpts her by screaming at me from the other side of the fire.
"HEY RATLIFF, WE HAVE A WICKED IDEA!"I painfully take my eyes of rydel and turn to riker.
I can feel rydel slip away from beside me, I can tell she's trying to get away without me noticing, but how could I not notice my life slip away. I try so hard to focus on what rikers blabbering on about, but my mind is trying to finish rydels sentence and it's driving my crazy not knowing, I just want to go after her.
" so are you in" oh wait, I glance up to riker, he looks like a little kid who has just figured out a way to reach the hidden stash of sweets.
"Um I wasent really listening......"
" UGHH, I said we were all just thinking bout how you know how to play the drums, and since we are all kinda getting really good at guitars and stuff, we should trying jamming out sometime, and if we sound good together we should make something out of it, what do you think" he said all this in a rushed angry but really excited voice. It took me about 2mins to process this but then the grin appeared on my face and he knew my answer instantly.
Before I knew it we were jumping round the place in one gigantic huddle, screaming about how well this could turn out. But my mind kept slipping make to my sad girl who slipped away, within seconds i was sprinting into the place that I know considered my second home, in search of the girl I would like to call mine
However, my plans were frozen in there place, when I glanced straight in front of me to thing that could put a stop to my urgent long over due question and the boys band ideas.
The front door was open and I pretty sure it was not the wind that opened it.
