Over Half Way

Six months into pregnancy

Wyatt

We found out the sex of the baby last month, but we had been too busy to be able tell the group the results. So, today we invited them over to our place to tell them the news. It was only 9am and I had just gotten out of bed. Zed was already up and I could smell that he was making breakfast. My stomach growled at the scent of bacon. I walked into the kitchen to see my boyfriend cooking.

"Morning, Pup."

"Hi, Zombie."

We greeted each other and kissed.

"Morning, Zephyr."

Zed said as he bent down to my stomach.

"I hope you're hungry in there. Daddy made some good breakfast for you and other daddy."

Zed kissed my belly resulting in a kick from Zephyr.

"Oh, Zeph kicked for you, babe."

"Aww, you're ready to come out, aren't you?"

"Whew, I sure am."

I said. I wanted this baby out of me. I only had 3 more months of this.

"I know, babe. It won't be long now. Go sit on the couch, off your feet."

After breakfast, I cuddled with Zed on the couch as we waited for our friends to come over. I layed on my side with my head in Zed's lap while Zephyr squirmed in my stomach. After a few minutes, I started to feel something weird. I felt something heavy in the bottom of my right rib cage and it didn't feel like Zephyr wasn't in my stomach anymore. What the hell?

"Babe.."

I spoke as a sat up and pulled my hoodie and shirt off to see and show Zed what was going on.

"What's the matter, Wy?"

I saw a faint baby shaped lump at the bottom of my right rib cage and I was starting to freak out.

Zed

I saw what Wyatt was freaking out about. Zephyr was up in Wyatt's rib cage. Little did he know that it was actually normal for the baby to do that during pregnancy. I couldn't help but laugh a bit.

"Why are you laughing?!"

Wyatt asked with a snarl, showing his fangs at me and his eyes glowing gold. I suddenly felt the need to explain quickly before he murdered me.

"Baby... That's Zephyr in your rib cage. It's normal for that to happen, don't worry."

I explained. I wave of relief went over me as he stopped snarling and showing his teeth at me.

"How do I get the baby out of my ribs?"

"Uhhh... Get on all fours, relax your shoulders, chest, and head and bring your upper body down. Try that."

Once he tried, Zephyr was back in the correct place. Wyatt sat back down on the couch, but he still looked freaked out.

"Baby, what's wrong?"

I asked as I scooted closer to him and wrapped my arm around his shoulders.

"I just want Zephyr out of me..."

He said with a breaking voice.

"Aww... It's gonna be okay, Wolfy. It's not gonna be long now."

I said, trying to comfort him. I rubbed his stomach gently and leaned down to leave kisses too. Suddenly, we heard a knock on the door. I knew it was our friend group and went to answer it.

Everyone found a place to sit and were all ready to know the sex of Zephyr. Before I said anything, I leaned over the back of the couch to whisper to Wyatt.

"Do you want to tell them or me?"

"You can, baby."

Wy replied. I knew that he was still kinda stunned by the baby getting into his rib cage.

"Zephyr is a boy!"

I announced. Everyone awed together like always. I sat back down next to Wyatt and wrapped my arm around his shoulders as he rested his head on mine and closed his eyes.

"Brother, are you okay?"

Willa asked.

"Yes, Willa, I'm fine. If I need anything Zed will help me."

Here she goes again...

"Well maybe I'd feel better if the second father was someone else..."

I heard Willa try to mumble to herself, but everyone heard.

"Willa!"

Wyatt snapped at her. Her words hurt me so bad... I felt sick to my stomach and rushed out the front door by myself.

Wyatt

"What the fuck, Willa?! Why would you say that about Zed?! He's been nothing but good to me and our unborn child!"

I yelled at my sister, not even realizing that my eyes and stone were glowing. I growled at her as I bared my fangs at her and she bared hers back at me.

"Because, Wyatt! I don't trust him!"

"Fuck you, Willa! You can forget ever meeting your nephew!"

I barked as I made my way to the door.

"I'm gonna go find my boyfriend, and when I get back I expect you to be gone, unless you plan to apologize to him!"

Third person

The door slammed behind Wyatt, making a few of the friends jump from the startle. Willa could feel everyone staring at her, even Aspen was giving her a disapproving look.

"Willa, let me ask you this..."

Addison began, getting the pack leader's attention.

"You and Zed were really great friends when him and I were together... why do you hate him now?"

"I don't trust him with my brother, Addison."

"Willa! Wyatt is an adult! He's not a pup anymore, neither of you are."

Addison couldn't help but be disappointed in Willa for her behavior. As everyone got up from their seats and made their way to the door, Willa received disapproving looks from everyone that passed. Even from her partner, Aspen. Receiving a look like that from them had to be the most painful for her.
