I won the court case. I was now in full custody of my sister. I ran home and dashed into her room. She was sitting there, crying again. She lifted her head up and saw my smile. "You're free." I whispered. At first, she was confused. As soon as I explained the situation, she started crying again. Happy tears. It was a blessing to finally see her smile again. I waited so to see that smile.

I am 27. I am healing now. I am a successful woman, graduated from a great business school. My sister is healing too. And we are both happy. She is a great scientist, and I have a small company that is now thriving. Neither of us are still fully over our childhood, but we have each other. Our connection is still as strong as ever, and we aren't looking to sever it any time soon. We need each other.

I am happy.
