Prologue
“Daddy” A young girl said as she stepped into an office with many investors.
“Hadley what do you want that couldn’t have waited till the end of my meeting?” the man said not making eye contact with the young girl.
“I need to speak with you”
“Can’t it wait…I’m in a meeting” he growled
“Of Corse sorry…I didn’t mean to-Disturb you” she put her head down and left closing the double doors behind her
“Sorry that’s my daughter…she has a habit of just barging into places”
Hadley sat out on the couch outside of her father’s office in the white house. Yes, White house. Where the president and his family live. It wasn’t much of a wait; he was out of the office within 10 minutes. Hadley’s long brown hair dropped out of her hand as she saw her father’s face. He was very upset with her. He smiled at the men from the meeting as they left the room his face went back to a frown and walked back to his desk office.
“Hadley.” He sighed
“Sorry I didn’t know you were in a meeting Isabelle was at lunch.” Hadley said looking down at her feet
“It’s okay….now what did you want to speak with me about?” he asked
“No I have already spoken with mom about this…and she thinks I should ask you first…” She stopped
“Ask me what?”
“I want to go away to college” she smiled
She prayed that he would let her. She was turning 18 next month. So it’s not like he could stop her. She really wanted to go. But the thing is being midway through the year she wouldn’t be able to go to an expensive college like Princeton or brown…she didn’t care though.
“It’s midway through the year Hadley” he said
“I know there is this small community college in a small town called Black Lake in Washington it’s about a 10 minute drive to Seattle. The campus is very nice. I have some brochures printed off please daddy” she begged.
“I guess I can make a couple of phone calls…but I can’t promise I will get you in” he smiled
“THANK YOU DADDY!” Hadley yelled
Hadley ran around the desk and hugged her father tightly; she had a huge grin on her face, she was so existed. Yes. Hadley thought Finally a real education. Hadley was home schooled. Threw high school, she has no friends but all that’s about to change.
Hadley woke up early the next day. She bolted out of her room in her pyjamas. Her father was already at the table. Hadley wanted an answer. Soon…maybe now even, she wanted to know if she could attend college or not.
“I made a few calls and spoke to the dean.” He began
“And…” she said hoping there would be some good news
“He said you can start Monday” he smiled
“YAY!” Hadley squealed “Thank you, Thank you so much!”
