♡RE4 Leon♡
Juliette was sleeping in the large empty bed alone. It felt too cold and dark in the room but she was too tired to care. The only light coming in the room was a soft white light from the streetlights outside. She shifted her body to lay on the other side and rested her hand where Leon would sleep, only to feel cold sheets against her skin. She despised the feeling now. The sheets didn't smell like him anymore, every now and then she would smell his bottles of cologne. It used to keep her accompanied somewhat but now it made her chest swell and ache.
The thick dreadful silence sat in the house like humidity, occasionally it would be broken by the blankets shifting or quiet chirps from the crickets.
She would joke about Leon's snoring or him snagging the blankets. Saying how she'll kick him off the bed though she never did.
She ached at those memories
A light flashed at the bedroom windows lightening up the room, Juliette furrowed her brows and tightened her eyes at the sudden light. The neighbors probably just came home or something. She thought to herself turning back against the light. The lights shut off and the room shadowed in darkness again.
As she felt her consciousness drift back to sleep, she heard knocking at the door and the doorbell ringing through the house. Who the hell is ringing at this hour? Juliette pondered as she pulled herself out of the bed feeling the soft carpet against her feet. She was wearing an oversized child's play shirt and lacked pants. Her long dark hair was messy and carried a slight smell of cigarettes. A full ashtray sat at the bedside table, she planned on quitting but that sure as hell wasn't gonna happen.
She dragged her feet downstairs as the person kept knocking at the front door.
Juliette lazily walked to the door and rubbed the sleep off of her eyes.
This better be worth it.
She turned the doorknob as her eyes stayed partially closed. The door creaked open and her eyes quickly opened wide as she saw the figure standing in front of her."Leon?"
"Juliette..."
Her name was all he could muster up. A lump in his throat grew. He blinked the tears out of his eyes focusing on her expression.
Leon stood in front of her with his luggage beside him. His dark blonde hair was messy, a scar healed on his upper cheek, his face was pale as his expression held exhaustion. When he heard her voice he crumbled. His blue eyes teared up as he took a deep shaky breath.
She raised her shaky hands to hold the man's face, his skin was cold and he leaned into her warm hands. His tearful eyes fixed on her, his chest raising quickly feeling the somber waves starting to overwhelm him.
Juliette tried to swallow the sadness back in her stomach, instead everything came back up like vomit as she bawled and sobbed out her feelings. She tightly clenched onto him into an embrace, Leon quickly wraps his arms around her back and holds her tightly. As if he let go of her slightly he would lose her again. Juliette cried and heaved into his shoulder. Leon rested his head on her as he sobbed with her. "I missed you so much..." he said with heavy sadness dragging his words. His breath was shaky, he tried to keep himself under control for her but these built up emotions were too much for him.
"Je pensais que je ne te reverrais plus jamais...je ne supporte pas d'êtve séparéce." Her words slurred together as she weeps into his chest.
Leon lifts his hands and gently lifts her head cradling the sides of her cheeks. Juliette melted into his hands as her glossy eyes stared at him. He leans his face close and clasps his lips with hers. It was simple, it was sweet and blissful. The feeling of their lips reunited sent thousands of butterflies in her stomach.
Leon pulled his head back after a few moments and slowly opened his eyes, Juliette's were still closed for a moment until she flutters them back open.
"It's okay, I'm here, I'm not going anywhere."
He said reassuringly to her.
Juliette smiles at him and takes a slow deep breath before speaking, "You look tired..hurry up and get your stuff back in so we can lay down. How does that sound?" Her accent was woven between her words beautifully, something he could listen to for hours on end.Leon chuckles softly as he sniffles, "I've been waiting to hear you say that.."
He drags his luggage back in the house and eventually reaches up the stairs to the bedroom. The house felt foreign for a moment, it was welcoming and quiet. It didn't reek of mold, there wasn't maggots crawling on the aged floorboards or blood rotting on the walls.
He takes a warm shower letting the water run through his hair and down his back. He missed the feeling of warm water pouring against his skin. Steam and the smell of soap filled the bathroom. He sat in the shower for 20 minutes, he wanted to see Juliette again and looked forward to sleeping in a big comfortable bed in comfortable clothes again.
He stepped out of the tub and spotted his cologne bottles. He knew how much Juliette loved the smell of them, they were deep, musky with hints of whiskey and smoke. Leon puts on clean clothes and takes a deep breath of the clean shirt. He felt as if he washed off everything that Spain left him with. Down the drain and finally off of his skin.
He walked out of the bathroom and felt the cool air rush over him. Every small thing he never payed attention to before he left made him feel more at home.
He drank some cold water in the kitchen, he could feel it cooling down the core of his body. Leon smiled as he looked at the photos hanging on the fridge doors. The image of Juliette laughing with a large smile was his favorite one.He walked up the stairs and remembered the horror movie posters they hung up along with some of her artworks.
Juliette was laying back down in the bed when he walked in, he smiles at her seeing her face light up seeing him again. "Did you have a nice shower?" She asked watching him pull himself under the layers of blankets.
"I surely missed feeling clean that's for sure." He snickered facing Juliette."I missed having you sleep next to me." She muttered taking his hand and grazed her thumb over his knuckles. Leon raises his brows seeing her expression suddenly drop back to a deep sorrow state. He spoke with softness in his voice, "I missed sleeping next to you too," Leon clasps her hand and begins placing gentle kisses on her palm with his eyes gently closed, "I love you so much..." he mumbled into her palm.
She pulls the man into a warm and gentle embrace, his face buried in her chest as her chin rested on his blonde hair. "I love you too...so much". Leon's hands rested on the side of her waist, his thumb drawing circles on her skin. He could smell faint cigarette smoke in her shirt but didn't find it unpleasant, it's something that reminds him of her.
The smell of her perfume, a nice bed to lay on, silence without a worry about monsterous creatures lurking the hallways, gave him a sense of peace he hasn't felt in what feels like forever.
His eyelids felt heavier by the second and his thoughts blurred together. The woman smiled seeing his shoulders relax and his breathing slowing down, "Bonne nuit mon amor..." she whispered kissing the top of his head. Leon mumbled already falling asleep next to her. She smiled at him and took in a deep breath before falling asleep with him.The night remainded calm and quiet. Gentle gusts of wind breezed against the house and trees. It was perfect.
Je pensais que je ne te reverrais plus jamais...je ne supporte pas d'êtve séparéce.
(I thought I would never see you again...I cannot bear to be apart from you)Bonne nuit mon amor
(Good night my love)
