Out Of The Safe Zone

Clementine's POV: I was laying in bed, still
can't believe I was so close to dying. To be honest it was a close one. I heard a knock "hey, so when are we going out the safe zone to you know get more supplies?" Violet entered my room, I sat up "I was thinking tomorrow, the sooner the better I say." She nodded, "So...is Louis going with you?" Why is she asking this? "Maybe, why are you asking?" She looked at her shoes, "you guys have been very close since everything you know... what happened after they kidnapped me and the others?" She looked at me with a serious face, "I don't know I mean I do but" "Clem!" Aj burst in the room, good timing to be honest.
Violet left "hey goofball" I smiled down at him, "tomorrow can I go with you and Louis out? Please" he asked me, I didn't want him to go not yet. "No bud, it will just be me and him for now, got it?" He looked upset but nodded he understood, at times.

The next day...

I woke up and got ready to go out, got my knife and headed out my room. I saw Louis by the gates and waved at him, "You ready?" He asked with a smile, "always, just holds sec" he nodded "Aj!" He came running and I got to his level to talk to him, "stay here got it, I will be back...just take care bud" he smiled "right back at you" and hugged me. We walked in silence for a bit until I HAD to end that, "when was the last time you went out the safe zone?" He looked at me, "to be honest, just the time we went to the train station... I  haven't been out since then." I was surprised, what if something happens I mean shit. We finally had gotten out the safe zone, we were in the middle of a road, "so what now?" He asked, "now we go look for anything that we can use." He nodded and kept walking.

Louis's POV: We kept walking until we found some houses, "so now we just enter?" She looked at me confused, "yes we enter, but carefully there could be...you hear that?" We stayed silent, "yes sounds like a car" it sounded close too, "hide" she told me and we ran behind some old cars. A blue car passes then a man in a motorcycle, "should we" "shush Louis" I kept quiet. The car stopped a Chinese guy came out with a woman they stopped. "We should ask them where they came from" Clem looked at me she was hesitant, "If this goes bad we run but check that they don't follow us, got it." I nodded "yes ma'm" she rolled her eyes. Either this was going to go good and have new people OR we might just get killed, as simple as that. "Hey!" Clementine came out then I did, the people heard us and pointed their weapons at us. Fuck. The guy in the motorcycle scared me more, he had some kind of crossbow, the woman had a gun, and the Chinese guy had a gun as well all pointed at us. "Look we don't want trouble just looking for things" I said Clementine nodded in agreement. They all looked at each other, "how old are you kids?" The woman asked I was about to answer when Clementine did, "We aren't really kids anymore at this age in this madness, but I'm 17 and same is he." They just stared at us, we had our hands up but I knew Clementine was fast enough to get her knife or just run.
