Gabriella Taren, the daughter of an Imperial Lord, is lured out of hiding when her father dies. When she returns to the sides of her loved ones, the duties of a future wife of nobility are bestowed upon her. Peace is a temperamental thing in the realm, and in order to stop a potential war, Gabriella has been ordered to make a marital alliance to sustain the peace and protect her people. Gabriella is then shipped to the foreign court where she prepares to become a bride, but little does she know that something terrifying has been anxiously awaiting her arrival.

Aside from the company of her brother, Gabriella has been left vulnerable to the dark and twisted world of court intrigue, a world whose residents are majority courtiers who wield sinister agendas. Mysteries begin to unravel around Gabriella when she learns of a nefarious plot and discovers that a string of murders—crimes no one has dared speak up about—are all connected to the Imperial Lord and his children. Lethal prophecies are being fulfilled and Gabriella has been branded with an ancient name that promises damnation, for her and for all.

The struggles of being a peacekeeper have never been more difficult, especially when she plays such a vital role in the game that is war. One wrong move and chaos will erupt.

For Isabella Corbisieri.
Thanks for being my Titania and letting me be your Oberon, even if it was just for a few months. The friendship that came out of it has been life-changing.
