-Pentecost's POV-

Pentecost rested his injured head onto the cold, brick wall. He had absolutely nowhere to run, a mutant zombie roared and hollered adding to his misery. He and his companion had near to no resources and his village... or the remains of it, was right above him, infested with piglin brutes and withered skeletons.

He wondered why they would attack in the first place, before the dimensions were relatively at peace and trade was at its height. He remembered that once he was a guard of an ambassador who was travelling to a nether fortress to establish a treaty of peace, the place seemed so calm and relaxed. There were wither skeletons but the were chilling and chatting together. They weren't the kind of mobs to go raging and attacking another empire, it just didn't fit.

But however wrong it was, it was reality and you can't run from reality since you are part of it, if not all of it.

He could tell the feeling of devastation on Nancy's face too, she was trembling with utter shock. Pentecost told her to stay put and that he'll be back. He decided to take the risk and try to take as much resources remaining without getting caught. He climbed up the ladder and mined the block above him then was faced with another block, crimson planks. Before he mined that block he noticed a muffled sound of speaking and gasps. He put his ears to the wood and heard clear sentences, "This is what will finally give the Nether all it's power, thanks to me of course" and "Well done general Raven, the Piglin King will be proud of you. He'll definitely promote you!"

He knew those were the voices of Nether generals taking about something special. He listened in to find more evidence.

"Why is it called a command block?"

"I'm not the one who got it, I just know it's powers to take down an army, you might as well ask the Piglin King"

"What do we do with it now?"

"Do what we've been doing for the past 48 months, use it as a weapon to attack the Overworld."

Pentecost knew whatever this "Command Block" is he must get it. So he crawled up and placed a block below him covering the entrance to the maze. He equipped his flimsy stone axe and smashed the bottom of the carriage which Raven and the other generals were sitting in. Raven was shocked and accidentally dropped the command block. Pentecost saw it dropping towards him, a weird cube with weird carvings, he instantly knew it was what he was looking for. He grabbed it and booked it out of there. A voice hollered, "INTRUDER!" (which was honestly unnecessary since the guards had already seen him by then)

Arrows flew above him as he ducked and weaved through barbed wire made of obsidian. A piglin brute sprang onto him with it's enchanted netherite axe slicing through the air. Pentecost dodged its attack and threw it over using a Brazilian Judo move, he stole it's netherite axe leaving behind a broken stone axe. With that, he disappeared into the forest smirking, this was one of the easiest mission he had completed.

-Maxwell's POV-

He straightened his back and picked up his sword. He was apparently next to a massive castle with towers decked with obsidian cannons, and guarded by a gargantuan bedrock gate. He was flabbergasted by the absolutely menacing beauty of the outpost. He was soon greeted with arrows flying at him, he instinctively hid and tried to be as small as possible, which wasn't very hard. He probably looked like a coward, but better safe than sorry.

Maxwell took a peek at where the projectiles were coming from and saw a patrol of mutant skeletons firing from the towers. A loud horn blasted and the gates opened up letting out a small army of mutant zombies and creepers. He ran with all his energy left. The army was catching up and there was no sign of the maze. His weak human body was soon too tired to keep on running so he collapsed and unequipped his armour and weapon and raised his arms in surrender.
