It was a normal day. Well as normal as it can get in the fairy tale world. Two brothers doing what they do everyday. Battling. Before returning to there duties to maintain the balance of the fairy tale world.
"Enough brothers" demanded a new voice, Elizabeth the eldest of the siblings, as she marched up to the two men her curly brown hair following her every movement. She was an exquisite beauty with no loyalty to either side of the tale. "We must return to maintaining the balance whether you like it or not"
"Of course ever the noble sibling sister" rafal said in his usual mocking tone
"Well someone has to stand between the two of your for the fate of the fairy tale world depends on it" Elizabeth stated matter a factly
"Enough both of you" commanded rhian, the middle sibling.
Ironic isn't it the middle and youngest siblings chose sides and the eldest stands in the middle.
"Why brother it's so much more fun to argue with our sister than return to our duties"
"Watch it brother if you don't shut your mouth the next thing to come out of it will be your teeth" threatened Elizabeth
"Eliza your sounding more and more like him everyday and I'm not sure it's a good thing"
"Really Rhian I am standing right here and I think it's a good thing she might finally choose a side" Rafal stated proud his sister might choose a side to stay loyal to.
"Absolutely not Rafal you must remember the reason for my lack of loyalty to either of you remember regression to the mean you both have extremes the there's me no one can be all bad or all good neither can life eventually it has to come back to the middle" Elizabeth said, yet again, lecturing her brother of his place and hers.
"Don't worry sister the balance will be maintained" stated Rhian with the upmost confidence, a quality he gained from watching his sister.
"I'm sure it will as long as you two stop fooling around and get back to your duties as I will do with mine" Elizabeth stated as she began walking away her brothers following soon after.
"But it's boring the only part of the day I enjoy anymore is duelling our brother and annoying you dear sister"
"Well our duties must come before our pleasure brother not that I don't enjoy annoying you as much as you do me"
"Come on Rhian one more round we both use magic no rules, both of us at full strength we have our dear sister to watch and make sure neither of us go to far and hurt each other"
"Fine as long as Elizabeth agrees to watch over us and make sure nothing happens"
"Fine but we must return straight after"
So the battle began, both brothers beginning with basic spells but within second Rhian was against stone Rafal holding him there with magic Elizabeth thought she destroyed a long time ago.
"Brother what are you doing? Blood magic is forbidden and thought lost a long time ago" Elizabeth said with the most authoritative tone her brothers had ever heard her use.
"Of course sister I found it days ago and with practice controlled it"
"You don't have to do this Rafal. We can live in peace" Rhian begged his brother from against the rock.
"What? And let the heroes have the upper hand while villains die and never get a happy ending? Never will I stand behind you and our sister ever again. I was always overlooked. Not anymore once your out of the picture I will stand by our sisters side and become more powerful than you ever were" the youngest brother
