He rolled his eyes, forcing a smile for his parents as he stepped through the door. "Don't touch me." He demanded, once the door thumped shut. "Wasn't planning on it." She scoffed, sitting on her bed. He looked around, her room was quite cozy. His eyes roamed around till it landed on the pictures atop her desk. "Dont-" She tried stopping him from moving closer. He froze as he recognized the photo in the middle. "You..." He paused. Picking it up gently, he stared down at the three kids. Their wide happy grins, bright eyes and closeness. He smiled softly, his eyes roving over his former lover's face. "You guys were my favourite." She admitted quietly. "Really?" He questioned, not lifting his head, as his eyes blurred with wetness. "Mhm, I was having a hard time deciding who's bridesmaid to be" She smiled fondly. He choked out a wet laugh as he finally glanced at little her. The three of them had their arms over each other, his former lover in the middle, his head leaning slightly towards him. "I really wanted to see you guys together at the alter together, hand in hand." She recalled, shuffling around. He sniffled as he looked up finally. They made eye contact and she stood up, her arms open. He paced towards her, collapsing into a familiar embrace. "I missed you. A lot" He admitted. "I did too.." She murmured, her chin atop his head as he allowed himself to be squeezed.
She pulled away minutes later, wiping away the wetness that clung to her lashes. "Can't ruin my makeup, mom would kill me" She commented dryly. He smiled, chuckling softly. "I have an idea, if your down" She said moments later. He blinked up at her, sitting down at her desk chair. "Go for it" He encouraged. "I've been visiting him lately, and he still loves you. So I was wondering if you wanted to.." She pointed towards her window, hoping he got the hint. "What about you?" He asked. "What about me?" She returned. "Like, why would you leave all this, for us?" He pressed. "Relax, it's not all for you" She laughed, "I've met someone" She smiled. "Who?" He inquired, sitting up curiously. "Uh she's the knight of the next kingdom over" She admitted sheepishly, suddenly shy. "Oooo" He giggled. "Shut up. So you down or not?" She rolled her eyes, but her serious facade quickly returned. "Yea." He nodded solemnly. "We have to pack and go. Right now" She urged. He rose, nodding frantically and taking the bag she pulled from her nightstand with a raised eyebrow. She waved him off, and started shoving things into a bag of her own.
He quickly copied her, grabbing a few things he would need and stuff from the suitcase he brought, shoving them into his bag. Throwing it over his shoulder, he turned around. He stared, wide eyed, at a ladder she slid out from under her bed. "You seriously prepared for this." He commented. She shrugged, pushing him out the window. He climbed down the ladder, landing with a soft thump. He helped her down, making sure she was safe. He watched in disbelief as she took the ladder and tucked it in between the bushes that surrounded her parent's mansion. "Damn." He shook his head in shock, watching as she parted the bushes in a hurry. A loud clang of the fence coming apart seemed to have alerted the guards. Heavy footsteps thudded in their direction and he panicked, but she remained calm, slipping through the hole she created. He followed quickly and stood next to her as she carefully rearranged the bushes so they looked natural. "Why the fuck-" He started. She pinched him and he closed his mouth. The footsteps neared them and they froze. "What was that?" A rough voice questioned. Confused mutters and receding footsteps had him releasing a sigh of relief. He turned around, and trailed her as she hopped over a few roots that had come out of the ground and deeper into the forest.
He was about to ask her where they were going when he heard a horse whinny. His interest peaked as they entered a clearing. On the far side, their horses were tied to a nearby tree. He sighed in relief, as they ran across the grass. Stopping by a patch of familiar flowers, he picked one, smiling at it as it reminded him of his lover. "Hurry up loverboy" She called a few meters ahead. Tucking it into his breast pocket, he hurried to catch up. Just as his last left swung atop his mare's back, the heavy footsteps was heard. She cursed under her breath, cutting the ropes instead of untying them. She tilted her head towards the east, before setting off in that direction. He followed her, rough voices calling after them. He spared a glance backwards, the guards had paused by their ropes, calling for them to return. He squinted as he saw his father among them. He was stood near the back, a small smile on his face. He waved to his son, and that had settled all of his worries. He waved back as much as possible and turned around, urging his horse faster. It was a few hours later, that she came to an abrupt stop by a small patch of rocks. He slowed down behind her, stopping his horse next to hers. "Were here" She smiled, her voice soft. His breathing quickened, not because of the adrenaline of running away from home, but a more nervous reason. "What..what if he hates me for leaving him." He rambled nervously to her. She shook her head and started towards towards the rocks. He was reminded of the flower, when the petal tickled his chin. He pulled it out, holding it delicately. He followed her hesitantly, pausing when she did and moving slower then her. She turned to him abruptly, causing him to almost trip. "Watch" She warned.
"Yea thanks asshole" He scoffed, straightening himself up. He continued trailing her as she kept walking, the flower still in his hand. "Hello?" She called out into a large opening. Quiet shuffling and a figure walked out. His breath caught in his throat, his heart pounding. His hands shook and he froze. The person didn't notice him yet, gravitating towards her instantly. "Hey" He grinned, hugging her. The voice was heavenly, the sound settling into his mind instantly. He almost didn't want him to realize he was there, he seemed too at peace for him to ruin it. He stepped back, the loud crunching of a twig drawing attention to him. The eyes glanced over at him and paused. He froze up again, wanting to speak but his mouth felt like cotton and his brain was running miles a minute. "Is that.." The heavenly voice asked. She nodded and he stepped towards him. His hand zipped out, the flower clutched between his fingers brought up to his face.
"Oh!" He exclaimed. He opened his mouth, a million apologies ready to fall out, but the feeling of delicate fingers brushing against his and the stem slipping from his grip had him pausing. "He called me an asshole like two minutes ago and he can barely talk now." She scoffed, rolling her eyes. He was ready to shoot back at her, but the sweet sweet sound of his laugh made him smile. "Um hi" He forced out. It was all he could do right now, shock filling his body. "Hi" He responded. "Can- Can I kiss you?" He asked. He was itching to hold the man, press his lips against the soft ones. "Yeah" He affirmed shyly. He moved forward, his hands clasping around his waist and pulling him closer.
His head ducked down to kiss him and the satisfaction that flooded through his body was unspeakable. 5 years, he was waiting for him. To hold him, kiss him, everything. Arms snaked around his neck, as he moved closer. He pulled back eventually, the need for air regrettably overpowering his need to keep kissing him. "I missed you so much" He pulled him into a hug, tearing up. She had disappeared into the cave but that wasn't a priority, the man in his arms was. "I did too, a lot" His response came. He teared up, pulling him impossibly closer. "Are you guys heading back soon?" The muffled voice asked. His heart rose as he muttered his response. "Nope, were here to stay" The eyes reappeared and lips met his again. He smiled into the kiss, his hand coming up to rest gently on his face. "Forever?" He whispered. "Forever" He affirmed, pulling him into another kiss.
