Ethan's POV
"Truly, our world is vast. We never know what will happen to it, but so are people. Humans, although we might not notice, can be vast too! We never know what they are thinking and what they are capable of. That is why different kinds of intentions linger around our human world . There are good intentions and there are also evil ones. Even some may appear inhumane. But why does it scare people? Is it because it might be something that might affect as? Or are there different kinds of other reasons? Well, it's because it is something we don't know and things we don't know are the reasons why we fear things."
"Argh, enough with the lectures already, Im hungry!" Rhea whispered quietly to herself in class.
It was quietly spoken out but i still heard her say it since she's just sitting beside me. I have to say, I was kind of bored of the lectures too but I just can't skip these lectures, only stupid people do that. And one reason is that: we also have midterm examinations tomorrow.
"Hey Ethan, you wanna do something interesting after class?"
Chris whispered to me while I was writing some notes.
"What do you mean?" I asked,
"It better not be something mischievous like the last time you made me do in the clinic "
"No, silly, it's just ghost hunting. So, are you up for it?"
"Chris, you do know we have midterm exams tomorrow and you're going ghost hunting?"
"Why not? I mean it's a great time to go ghost hunting."
"So you're saying you want me to fail the exams with you? Come on man is that it? just tell me the real reason why you'd do that."
"Ughhh... its Jen, she asked me to come with them to go ghost hunting tonight."
"So why are you asking me to come?"
"Because Chloe's coming, and i know you'd come with us if she did."
"Are you out of your mind!? Yeah, i like Chloe but I don't want to fail this test because of her."
"Never mind Ethan, I'm just going without you then."
"Do whatever you like, I'm not failing that exam."
The class ended the lecture and before I knew it, the class was dismissed. I got out of the university and went home. On my way home, I saw some group of people walking together. I noticed that one of them is my friend, Chris, the others, i don't know, except for Jen and Chloe. There was about 9 of them at that time and they are on their way to the abandoned hospital up the hill, judging from their direction.
I got home, ate dinner, went to my room and I studied all night. I also noticed that some parts of the house are dirty and I think I have to start cleaning soon after the exam.
At the day of the exam, I woke up early despite the fact that i still lack some sleep, but I know that I'm ready for the exam and so i got dressed and went to the university early. When I got there, the usual student who opens the gate was still opening the front gate.
"Goodmorning Mr. Gatekeeper !"
I greeted him but he didn't reply, well he is quite cold and he's really quiet so I expected for him not to actually respond.
So I just waited for him to finish opening the gate and went straight to our class. But I felt something strange while walking through the corridor, like something was changed in there. So i went back to the corridor and saw the gate keeper staring up in the ceiling.
"Hey gatekee-"
I was shocked when I looked up at where he was looking then suddenly saw a person's body hanging horizontally in the corridor's ceiling. I can't figure out who it is because the face is covered. I looked at the gatekeeper's face and saw that he's frozen from what he saw. It was then when a professor entered the hall and saw the both of us staring at the ceiling and went to check what it was. He then called the police and told us to go home for today since they would need to investigate the grounds.
When I got home I called Chris and told him what happened.
"Dude, I'm at class, what are you talking about? Where are you? The exam is going to start soon you better hurry up!"
"What? You better be joking right now! The police are investigating the university grounds today, the exam was canceled for tomorrow."
"I'm not joking! What are you talking about? Are you high or something?"
I decided to go to the university because Chris felt like he was serious about it.
When I got there, the university grounds was fine and the exam was already ongoing.
"What the hell is going on, i thought there was some investigations going on in here"
I whispered to myself in the corridor when suddenly I felt dizzy and I was knocked down on the floor. Then i started feeling sick, weird and nauseous. I opened my eyes and all of a sudden I saw that I was in a bloodstained operating room and there are people who were operating my body, one of them are stitching my mouth for no good reason.
They all had the same mad lunatic look in their faces. I heard a lot of screaming from within the room. The next thing I felt was the hard bed i was lying down on, and when i looked around I was on our clinic. I came to when i realized I was dreaming about the whole operation thing that was happening to me awhile ago. But it felt so real, i never had anything like that in my nightmares.
The nurse entered the clinic and offered me water, she said I passed out because of exhaustion and dehydration. It was already afternoon when i woke up. I went to our classroom but everyone was already dismissed and there was no one there so i decided to just walk my way home.
On the way, I saw Chris, Jen, and Chloe again, they were with their group and I think they're heading to the abandoned hospital for the second time. But it felt weird when I looked at them. The way they looked felt familiar, like it was the exact same image I saw while they were going there the first time. So I went to approach them.
"Chris! Are you going to go ghost hunting again?" I asked him,
He didn't respond to me, I then realized... something is wrong with everything.
