"You can't keep ignoring that alarm clock all day y/n." My mom says, staring down at me.

I feel my heavy eyelids struggling to open. The sun beamed down on my face, making my sensitive eyes hurt.

"What time is it?" I croak.

"Time for you to get up. It's the first day of school." My mom begins to open all the windows possible.

"No, stop it." I say, covering my face with a pillow.

She sighs, "y/n, we aren't doing this again, cmon."

I protest, "can I just stay home, pleasee?"

She shakes her head, "No, now get up. I want you downstairs in 20 minutes."

As she leaves the room, I grab my phone and check my messages. I see that Stephanie (best friend) had already texted me,

Bitch, you up?

What do you want?

You better not be late to school, it's the first day!!

I get up, yawning and stretching my way to my dresser. What the hell am I gonna wear? I shuffle through some clothes, deciding that it'll be better if I just wear a hoodie and some jeans.

I go to the bathroom once I'm changed, putting my hair into a bun. As I brush my teeth I hear my mom yell at me from downstairs,

"Y/n!! I'm leaving in 5 minutes, you better be down here by then!"

I roll my eyes, she won't leave me. Once I'm done, I grab my backpack and head downstairs. My mom was already waiting in the car, shaking her head once she saw me appear. I get in the car, my moms lecture already starting.

After what felt like hours of being in the car, she stopped in front of my school, turning to me,

"Y/n please don't do anything that will get you in trouble." She says. I smile,

"Mom, I'll be alright."

She smiles, "okay sweetie, I'll see you after school."

I get out of the car, waving goodbye.

I walk towards the school doors, opening them to reveal the big crowds of students, all holding their schedules in their hands. Some girls were squealing with excitement, knowing that they had some classes with their friends.

I make my way through the crowds, trying to find Stephanie. I decide it's better if I call her.

Y/n: Stephanie were are you?!

Stephanie: I'm by the office with anaiya

Y/n: okay I'll be right there

I hang up, making my way towards the office. I spot Stephanie and anaiya both with their schedules already in hand. I go to greet and hug them

"Ugh, it's been so long." I say, hugging them as if I didn't just see them 3 days ago

Stephanie laughs, "I know right?"

"Y'all are stupid." Anaiya says, shaking her head.

I smile, "where did you guys get your schedule?"
