I awake from loud annoying piercing sounds coming from my digital alarm clock. I groan somehow thinking that it would turn off on it's own. But, no my dead beat dad just had to give me a endless headache. Out of all the things he could have left before leaving me, I roll my eyes slightly irritated just thinking about him.

I yawn before jumping out of my clean bed and put on the outfit I planned the previous day. I was exactly stoked, if anything I was the opposite. I was only happy that it was the last year. I was either hated, feared or pitied which I honestly don't know which is the worst.

I creak my worn out door to peer out into the hallway. I let out a relieved sigh as I notice Samantha is nowhere in sight. Meaning 1 of 2 things: she was either still fast asleep, or at some guy that she met at the bar's house... or both. I couldn't find it in me to care today. I don't exactly have any patience to deal with her today.

I can't wait to be able to get a job of some sort and move out of this fucking shit excuse of a town. I scoff at the thought as I make my way into the bathroom and stare into my reflection in the mirror.

I wave softly. It waves back.

I smile falsely towards it. It smiles back.

I flip it off violently. It follows my actions.

I pull on my face softly as I look into my reflection once again. I had very unexplainable looks. And I don't mean I'm unattractive or ugly. I literally have red eyes and sharper than usual canine teeth... I pull my mouth to glare at the dangerously sharp teeth. Samantha has taken me to the doctor as we had both been concerned and confused but all the doctor had to say was that it was from my fathers side because my mother has the opposite features.

She has blonde hair and I have black hair with purple strands mixed in. Hell, I can't even remember when I last dyed my hair. If at all, I laugh at the stupid thought. I honestly didn't think they needed redyeing anytime soon, I think as I curl a strand around my finger. Upon hearing that it was from my father she demanded another look saying that he anything but that. Whatever that meant I never knew. So either Samantha doesn't remember my father or I'm some baby she found on the side of the road. I chuckle at the thought. I would not be surprised knowing all the things Sam finds on the road or op shops.

I shrug all the unanswered questions I hold and take one more glance before leaving the moderately average house.

"Adios Sam," I let out a 'hm' before starting to make my way slowly to school, not exactly in a rush.

"Ah, entonces hablas español?" A masculine voice unfamiliar to me speaks from behind me catching my attention. He startles me however I don't even show it as I am too busy being confused.

"¿sí?" I speak quietly as he chuckles.

"Don't worry about it," He smiles mischievously before continuing with what he was saying. "I was just teasing," He laughs again which I react by raising a brow confused. Why is he talking to me? Is he new around here?

"Are you new?" I ask already knowing the answer. He nods telling me how he moved in a few days ago pointing to a house next to my own. Ah, so we walked out around the same time. "I'm guessing you know very little about the people here?" I question holding back a small smile.

"Yeah, I only know about the neighborhood families and someone mentioned a 'scary' person called Jupiter?" He shrugs confused and I freeze up, my eyes widened. I just shake it off and continue walking beside the stranger.

"So that's the popular group," I start as I point to a group. "A bunch of fucking pris's if you ask me," I watch as they look at me worriedly whispering to each other about me, to which I flip them off. "That's the nerds, pretty cool group if you ask me," I smile towards the group even occassionally waving at a few. "All cool besides, Blake, he's a fucking creep." I look at Blake with a disgusted look as he winces with bruises upon his skin. Guess who did that. "The rest are just kids like party kids, or the science group or whatever you would expect." I shrug uniterested in the rest. "Well welcome to not only the shittiest school ever but also the worst year of your goddamn life." I shout loudly earning looks from all around me to which I just deathstare everyone.

"Oh, Que estúpido de mi parte! My name is Zach Diaz," He offers his hand to shake and I take it kindly shaking it softly. "And you are?" He asks and I grin softly.

"Jupiter Greene but Jolene suits me better don't you think?" I ask a rhetorical question and watch his eyes widen largely. "Yes, I am indeed the 'one and only' and the 'almighty'." I roll my eyes playfully. He goes to speak but is interrupted by the most annoying, screeching noise ever.

"Hey Jupiter! Leave the new kid alone, he's our fresh bait." Of course that voice has to be Verice's own stupid voice.

I turn to face him not one bit intimidated by him and he knows it. He flinches slightly and I chuckle amused by it. "My name is Jolene, and I'm not going to let you pick on him dipshit." I bite back as he stands back a bit. We now have gained a small crowd of students watching the usual action between me and a student. I just grit my teeth as he continues to speak.

"Calm down freak!" Verice and his friends laugh as if it's the funniest thing ever. "Don't go feral on us Red!" I feel my body stiffen as I look at him with a smile making him flinch.

"This is a warning Verice. Give it up." I stare him down but he doesn't stand down.

"You're a girl! You couldn't hurt a goddamn fly." Verice gets down to my height only seperated by a few centimetres.

"Oh yeah?" I laugh before tripping him forcefully and pushing my foot down onto his neck. "Last warning." I grin feeling extra generous around Zach. He didn't need to see this.

"Don't get mad at me for your dad's absence in your sad life." He laughs but boy will he regret that. I look at Zach and frown for a moment.

"Sorry," I throw him a sympathetic frown as he gives me a confused expression before I turn back to Verice and lean down, pressing my knee down onto his ribs before punching him square in the nose which makes a cracking sound which I smile at. Bastard got what was coming. Let that be a lesson to never fuck with Jolene and her daddy issues.

I don't even need to punch him again as he cowers back hold his now blood spilling nose. I poke my tongue out and flip him off as I walk off with Zach to my locker. I grab out a tissue and hold it to my knuckles. "God, he's got a sharp nose," I wince as my knuckles start stinging.

"Oh Dios mío! That was..." I look down expecting my new friend to leave faster than he came. It usually was the case anyways... Either feared or yelled at
