Part 1.

She hadn't been feeling great for quite some time now. Insomnia. Exhaustion. Stress. Guess that's just some of the joys a career in law enforcement brings with it...especially when you're a Senior Agent of the California Bureau of Investigations. And it certainly doesn't help having a partner that's constantly breaking the rules...Jane. She couldn't help it, but the name always made her smile. Although working with him does quite often feel a bit like looking after a three-year-old, he's brilliant at catching out the bad guys with whatever it is he's doing, she thought to herself while turning on the sink tab, filling her glass with water, ready to flush her pills down.
She carries it over to the table and pops a couple of tablets out of a blister pack, places them in her mouth and quickly gulps down the water. A shiver goes through her body, she hated swallowing tablets, but she just needed the extra energy. Once she was done, she placed the glass next to the already quite big pile of dishes and went back into her bedroom, letting herself fall back onto the soft duvet. She let out a big sigh. What has been happening to her over the past few weeks? What is draining her of all her energy? Pressing on of her arms against her forehead she sighs once again, before she decides to get back up...dragging herself to her mirror. She absolutely disliked what she saw! Her usually already pale but beautiful complexion...she was white like a ghost. Her lovely prominent cheekbones were getting really visible and she had huge purple rings under her eyes. She felt so empty, and she also felt a little like crying...but she'd never admit that. Part of her just wanted to crawl back into the bed, but she knew she had to brave the day...just in that moment, her BlackBerry rang. It was Cho. 'We've got an important update on the case.'
