Everyone is born with a mark that represents there mate or mates, you see some people are born with more than one. It's most common to be born with one or 2 sometimes 3 but having more than that was very rare.
There are different types is mates there are the dominants who are the ones that know who there mates are right away and have the duty to inform there submissive that they are mates. You see there are also submissive's and they don't really know they have met there mate and which is why it is the job of the dom of switch to tell them.
When a dom meets there mates they know instantly and when they touch them there sun will feel a connection later on and over time it grows.
Daniel was born with 5 sole marks much to his mother and fathers displeasure. His mom and dad horrible people you'll learn more in the story.
