"What the hell is the military doing here?" Daryl asked as he walked past the soldiers like they didn't exist and walked towards his kill. A deer that had three bolts in it but also a large chunk of its guts eaten by the walker.

Jack looked at Mason who looked back at him then they looked at Daryl. He and Mason motioned for the soldiers to back up.

"Son of a bitch. That's my deer! Look at it. All gnawed on by this," Daryl began to complain, kicking at the walker that was laying on the ground dead and unmoving. "Filthy, disease-bearing, motherless poxy bastard!" he said and then stumbled towards the rest of the people, pacing around angered at the fact he was hunting and it didn't go as planned.

In Jack's head, it seemed that Daryl didn't care about him or the soldiers. He didn't ask a hundred questions. Something that made Jack happy about if he was truthful towards himself.

"Calm down, son. That's not helping," Dale said. Daryl glared a little at Dale, his eyes drifting to all of us in the group, then to me, and quickly back to Dale. His soft expression turned hard and vicious.

"What do you know about it, old man?" Daryl questioned threateningly at Dale as he got face to face with the elder man. "Why don't you take that stupid hat and go back to 'On Golden Pond'?" Daryl teased, trying to insult Dale. Daryl looked down and saw Jack's hand on his chest keeping him away from Dale. "Please step back sir," Jack said sternly causing Daryl to scoff at him and go back towards his kill.

Dale whispered thank you to Jack who nodded back to him saying it was nothing.

"I've been tracking this deer for miles. Gonna drag it back to camp, cook us up some venison," Daryl explained as he pulled out the arrows from the deer's now-infected corpse. "What do you think? Do you think we can cut around this... chewed-up part right here?" he asked the others, looking up at them and showing the part he was talking about.

"I would not risk that," Shane said as he shook his head and pulled a face of disgust at the deer.

"As much as I like Deer I wouldn't risk that," Chris said behind Jack who nodded agreeing.

This caused Daryl to sigh and walk towards the camp. He turned his back to look over his shoulder. And saw Lori and Carl come over, standing by Amy and Andrea, and watching the soldiers/men. He spotted two Dogs standing in front of the women as if something magically got past the men they would protect them. Cerberus and Britta. Very protective beasts.

"I would not risk that," Shane said as he shook his head and pulled a face of disgust at the deer. This caused Daryl to sigh and walk towards the camp.

"Snowe gather the rest of Charlie team and help patrol the line. Keep Turner and Allen as well. Take Cerberus. He'll help. Mason let's go handle this mess." Jack said with Snowe signaling two of the soldiers that weren't Turner and Allen to gather the rest of his team.

"You heard the Sarge let's get it done. We will not fuck up again do you copy." Snowe said causing Jack to smirk a little as he walked away. Snowe was his best friend in the unit behind Mason. A great fire team leader and door kicker. A.true marine. He was days away from being promoted to Sargeant when all of this happened.

Jack walked with Chris, Rick, and Mason behind him as they followed Daryl back into the campsite and RV.

"That's a damn shame. I got some squirrels about a dozen or so. That'll have to do," He said as he looked over his shoulder indicating a dozen squirrels he had killed.

"Merle! Merle! Get your ugly ass out here! I got us some squirrel! Let's stew 'em up," Daryl called out as he walked towards camp, placing his bow to the side as they all followed closely behind him.
