"Yeah, I gotta go. I'll talk to you later", Maya (Txunamy Ortiz) said getting off her phone before turning to Bella (Sofia Carson). "Hey, sis, long time no see", she said with a big cheery smile. "Maya, it's good to see you too but what are you doing back from camp so early?", Bella asked still in shock. "Oh, that, they kicked me out. But it's no problem. It was boooooringgggg anyway", Maya responded texting on her phone before plopping her lollipop back in her mouth. "What?! Why did they kick you out?", Bella inquired. "I may or may not have vandalized their property" "What?!" "It's not my fault. It was so bland. It needed a makeover" "Maya, I am so d-" "Yeah, yeah, don't care. What we should be talking about is why all that stuff was in my room", Maya said cutting Bella off. "Oh, well, as you noticed, we have some new guests. They'll be staying with us for a while and we decided to give them your room for the time being since you weren't home", Bella explained. Maya eyed the 7 girls as they stood there uncomfortable. She scoffed before continuing, "Well, now, I am back. So, get your stuff out", she turned back to her vanity. "Alright, I'm gonna give this girl a piece of my mind", Hydra (Riele Downs) said but was stopped by the other girls.
"Maya, don't you think you could share your room with Hydra and Volt for a while. Please, for me", Bella begged. "Mmm, no. The blue girl is too mean and the purple one is too glamorous. That's my thing", she said looking at them as she spoke. "The old Maya would have loved to share her room", Bella said disappointed. "Well, that's the old Maya. This is the new and improved Maya", Maya said while applying some lip gloss. "Well, this Maya stinks", Bella retorted. At this, Maya stopped applying the lip gloss and slowly turned her head towards her. Bella gave a 'What-you-gon-do-about-it?' look and the next minute the 8 girls found themselves outside Maya's door as she slammed it in their faces.
"I did not expect your sister to be like, that", Illumi spoke up. "She's usually not. I don't know what's gotten into her", Bella said walking downstairs. The others followed and on reaching the bottom of the stairs, they saw Bella's parents looking worried. "We knew she wouldn't listen", Bella's mom said as she fiddled with her locket. "We got a call from her camp that she had gone rogue. They sent her back for vandalism of private property", her dad explained. "Do you think she got into a bad gang?", Blayze suggested. "Maybe", Bella's Dad answered. "I don't know but I want my sister back", Bella said on the verge of tears. She started crying and her parents hugged her as they comforted her while the 7 Princesses just looked at each other.
Later that day, Bella walked into the living room to see Maya on the couch watching Total Bellas. "You know that show is actually not for your age", Bella said hovering above her. "That's none of your business, grandma", Maya retorted not even sparing her a glance. "What's gotten into you lately?" Maya just ignored her and started operating the TV remote. But Bella snatched it from her, "Answer me, Maya!" "I have nothing to answer for", she said still not looking at Bella. "Did you join a bad group?" "I made friends" "If they're doing this to you, then, they're not very good friends" "Don't tell me how to live my life, Bella" "I've seen more of life than you to know what I'm talking about. You've turned into a snoot, a living, breathing snob" "If you're here to throw insults at me, then, just leave" "Get your common sense back!" Maya abruptly stood up and yelled, "Fine. I'm going to my room, Mom" As she marched to the stairs, Bella said, "Do not call me your mother" "But you act like one!", Maya finished before stomping off to her room and a slam was heard.
Bella face-palmed and said to herself, "This is not how I wanted this talk to go" She then turned off the TV before heading to her room. When she got there, she saw Blayze, Wendy and Hydra there. Hydra had had to move into Bella's room since she and Volt were chased out of Maya's. Volt was now sharing the other room with Illumi, Ivy and Winter, and it was cramped. "I still can't believe your smooch of a sister kicked us out of her room", Hydra complained with folded arms. "I can't either", Bella said lowly before plopping onto the bed.
Meanwhile, in the other room, Volt had come up with a plan. "You know, I think I can try talking to Maya", she said to the other three. "From the shouts I heard, talking to her sister didn't work. So, how will it work with you?", Winter said. "I think I just understand her situation. So, let me talk to her", Volt said stepping out of the room. She walked into the hallway leading to Maya's room. It was quiet and all that could be heard was the clicking of Volt's heels against the ground. She approached Maya's room and knocked softly on the door. "Hello? Maya? It's Volt, the purple girl. Can I talk to you, please?" "No, go away!", Maya sounded back but she sounded rather sad. Volt opened the door since it wasn't locked and walked in to see Maya on her bed crying. "Maya? Are you okay?" She immediately wiped her tears and tried to sound strong, "Yes, I'm fine. What are you doing here?" "I came to talk", Volt said sitting down next to her.
"I feel there's something deeper to why you're acting this way. Do you mind telling me?" "Why should I tell you?", Maya sniffled. "Because you need to let it out. Venting really helps make you feel better. I promise I won't tell anyone if you don't want me to" Maya let out a breath she didn't know she had been holding and finally started venting. "I had to be this way at camp. Because nobody liked me, they only liked this version of me. So, I became it. And I could never stop because if I stopped, no one would like me anymore. I kept up the façade and everyone loved it. I joined them in their activities. Then, they decided to vandalize the camp walls with spray paint and I-I joined them. If I didn't, they would hate me. But we were caught and sent home and it was all my fault", she cried into Volt's lap. "Woah, honey, watch the dress", Volt said prying her off. "Look, you made mistakes at camp. But you're home now, and this act is making us not like you. So, why can't you drop it?", she continued. "Because this persona makes me feel indestructible and helps me deal with hard facts in life and when I came home, I had to face a very hard fact. So, I kept it up to dry to drown it out.
"What fact did you come across when you got home?" Maya then slowly looked up at Volt and answered, "You. All of you" Volt was taken aback, "What? What do you mean?" "I came home and I saw that I had only been gone for a week and they had replaced me and Bella seems to love you all more than she ever did me", Maya answered looking at the ground. "Maya, honey, that's not true. You're sister's only trying to be hospitable and make new friends. She could never love anybody more than her family, especially you, her favorite sister. She talks about you all the time", Volt assured. "Really?", Maya asked with a small smile. "Really", Volt answered squeezing her hand to assure her. "Thank you, Volt. You're like my second sister. And I love you, all of you 7", Maya finished, hugging Volt. She hugged back and replied, "I love you too, Maya and so does your sister which is why she'd love to see you back to yourself right now", Volt said holding her shoulders as they broke apart. Maya smiled as Volt pulled her up by the hand and led her to Bella's room.
"Oh, guys, surprise!", she said presenting Maya. Their faces darkened at the sight of her. "It's okay. I fixed her" "Really?!", Bella said excitedly. Maya nodded and Bella rushed up to give her a big hug. "I missed my sister", she whispered. "I missed you too", Maya whispered back as the other 4 girls stood there watching them. Then, Illumi, Ivy and Winter walked in and smiled at the sight of the reunited sisters as well.
