Esmè sat in the flat. She knew that things were a mess. She knew how she was trying to keep her distance from Patrick. And all that was going on. But she knew it wasn't easy.

She knew that they had a connection. But she knew that it was wrong. Especially as she knew he was with Maxine. She knew that the last thing that she wanted was to be involved in an affair. She knew it was too late for that.

Esmè looked to her phone as she looked to see Patrick as he was calling her. She declined the call. She looked to see Grace as she walked in.

Grace looked to her daughter.  "Are you okay? You don't look well," she said. 

Esmè looked to her. She rolled her eyes. "I am fine. I'm tired. And I'm stressed that's all mum. You don't need to worry about me," she said as Grace looked to her and frowned.

Grace knew how Esmè had been distant lately. But she knew her daughter. And she could tell when there was something bothering her. "As long as you are sure," she told her. 

Esmè smiled.  "I am mum. I am going to be okay. Look I have to go. I am going to meet Isla. Just try not to worry okay. I'm a big girl. And I can handle myself," she said as Grace smiled.

Esmè knew that the last thing she needed was for Grace to find out about her and Patrick.

Esmè walked into the pub. She saw Isla who looked to her and smiled. "Are you okay?" Isla asked.

Esmè looked to her. She sighed and shook her head. "No. Not really. All I can think about is what I have got in with Patrick. I mean, I know I shouldn't have gotten involved now. But I hate what I've done."

Isla looked to her. She smiled and nodded. "I get that. I felt that way with Warren. But then I thought of Liam and how he treated me. Everyone thinks Warren is a bad guy. When he isn't. Look he is the one in the relationship. He is the one who is cheating on his girlfriend. He chased you. You're human. You are allowed to feel bad about it all. But none of it is your fault. But look, if you're feeling this way, then I guess you have to ask yourself if this is worth it," she said as Esmè looked to her and smiled.

Esmè answered the flat door. She saw Patrick. She looked to him and sighed.  Patrick looked into her eyes. "You have been avoiding me," he said.

Esmè looked to him. She sighed.  "I have been trying to clear my head. All of this is a mess. And I don't know how much longer I can do it for. I need time," she said as Patrick looked to her and smiled.

He knew that he didn't want to let her down. He knew how he felt about Esmè.

But little did they know how everything was about to change.
