As usual, practice wasn’t easy.
Not when you’re an idol. You need to know the choreography perfectly, nail the expressions, the small details and keep the fans entertained while doing it, despite the outfit you’re wearing, the uncomfortable warmth.
What was unusual today was arriving at the practice room and seeing an empty space on the couch and I.N wearing a mask inside, away from everyone. He didn’t let anyone get too close to him. That resulted in Hyunjin asking questions while Felix was moving around I.N, inspecting him from head to toe with a burning gaze that only seemed to make the younger feel even more ashamed. Minho was on the couch, looking worriedly at Jeongin from distance, Changbin was drinking his water and glancing over at the youngest who was desperately trying to escape his hyungs’ questions.
“What’s going on?” asked Han half-asleep as soon as he enters the room. As Han walks in and takes a place next to Minho, despite his lateness.
I.N silenced everyone, starting his small speech he prepared “Bangchan and me went to the ice rink yesterday, right?” he starts, his hand moving to the back of his neck , rubbing it awkwardly. “Well, we might have exaggerated a little and now he’s kinda sick. So, uh… he’s locked up in his room right now.”
Changbin just sighed, reminding him how they fought with snow a few days ago till they were drenched. “Ahhh, why does Bangchan become such a child when he’s hanging out with Inniee?” whined Changbin. Minho just laughs a bit, feeling Han put his arm behind him on the couch.
“So, I’m going to take care of him but please don’t come in contact too much, he’s feeling pretty exhausted” Jeongin added, in hopes of not spreading the virus. He smiled under the mask, and despite it not being visible, everyone already knew and imagined the smile on the youngest’s face.
Everybody just wished I.N a relaxing day, after fighting him (mostly teasing him) about barely being able to cook for himself. How are you going to cook for two people? Asked Seungmin, reminding Jeongin of the time he hurt his finger while cutting carrots, or how he had issues cutting vegetables and his hyungs jumped to his rescue. The other members continued their usual routine after his departure, but it felt so empty without Bangchan and I.N in the practice room.
Going back to the dorm, the members saw that I.N came and moved into Bangchan’s room, meaning that he was sleeping in there. It was a bit unusual for I.N to be so clingy, but that must mean that Chan was having it pretty bad. Minho suggested cooking and taking turns in taking care of them as Innie is still a small baby bread for them.
In reality… I.N could cook something, not much, but there was a high risk of him injuring himself when it came to other dishes that he hadn’t mastered before.
Thus, the schedule was written for a few days: Felix would bake some brownies, Minho would cook the meals (assisted by Hyunjin, as he was the only one kind of capable of doing that), Han would buy medicine and Seungmin (accompanied by Changbin) would buy ingredients for Minho.
The first day was a pretty busy one. After cooking till almost midnight, Lee Know was tired. Han had come back a while ago, then hang around the living room, watching Minho cook and sway his hips while humming to some songs that sounded oddly familiar. Hyunjin was moving around him, focused on the food, sometimes talking and joking around. Yet, the younger was helplessly staring at Lee Know; he was mesmerized by his bandmate.
Bangchan had always joked with Han about Minho in private, hinting at a possible crush in a subtle way that managed to get on Han’s nerves every single time. Yet, Han never admitted actually having one on Minho even after taking years of the elder’s teasing. A while ago though, Han told Bangchan about Lee Know… by mistake.
