It had been a few days, and Grant was getting worse every day.

He stopped going out, eating... he got depressed. The only thing (or rather, person) that was keeping him going was his best friend Candice. He called her the same morning of that tragic day and told her everything. Obviously she, after the initial shock, had reassured him in every possible way. From that moment she had come every day to see him.

2:45pm

The boy lay on his bed, motionless, staring at the celling. What had he become? He was really disappointed in himself. He was mostly disappointed with everything around him: from pots in the kitchen to clothes in closets. They reminded him of one person in particular, who at that moment he just wanted to forget.                                                                                                                             He was about to fall asleep again when he heard the bell ring: it was Candice.

With all the strength he had in his body he managed to get out of bed and, with a heavy step, get up to the door, which was opened without hesitation.

The woman was waiting for him at the entrance.

She immediately nodded to greet her with a half smile.

"Hey," she said, showing a bag she was holding. "Guess what? I brought sushi!" she added.

"Wow... isn't it a little late for lunch?" he asked jokingly, doing his best to hide his marked face.

"Come on, there's always time for some sushi.." she laughed.

Grant took two steps back to get her into the living room.

She placed the bag on the coffee table in front of the sofa and began unpacking the contents, taking out two large packages of the famous oriental food.

"It looks good," he said, peering into the plastic wrapper.

"Trust me, it is"

The girl looked better at her dear friend: he had lost a lot of weight, his skin showed an excessive pallor, he had large bags under his eyes... Candice could see it, the poor guy was trying so hard not to fall apart right in front of her. Candice could see it.

"So... how do you feel?" She asked, having obviously noticed the lost look of her friend.

"Not bad," he replied, smiling with 32 teeth.

At that moment the boy's sight quickly faded and a strong sigh left his lips.

He covered hiss face with both hands and started sobbing violently.

The actress said nothing and did as she had done in the previous days: she spread her arms and welcomed him in a warm and comforting embrace.

"I can't take it anymore..." he whispered, between hiccups.

Candice did not open his mouth. He wanted him to vent, without being interrupted by anything and nobody.

They stayed in that position for at least an hour and a half, until Grant calmed down. The actor was exhausted.

"Grant, go and rest, it's better this way..." she whispered, still holding him in her arms.

A few days later...

Grant awoke slowly, troubled by the annoying buzzing from his phone.

He rubbed his eyes, clouded by sleep, and took his cell phone: someone was calling him. The number was private.

Immediately he thought not to answer and hang up, but something did not allow him and accepted the call.

"Hello? Grant Gustin?" said a male voice across the screen.

"Hello...?" replied the actor in a confused tone.

"Good morning, Mr. Grant. I'm your new agent, Jacob Wesley."

"Oh... good morning"

"I wanted to let you know that you got a new job offer. This is a new film, horror, thriller, and you have been offered a co-star role. The film will be shot in London."

"W-wow, so much stuff..." said the boy, trying to process it all.

"You have a week to decide. I will call the producers on Monday and report your choice. Then I will schedule an online meeting with the producers, who will explain everything well"

"Okay, thank you very much Jacob. Goodbye." And that said, Grant ended the call with a quick click.

"Like hell I am," he thought to himself, retreating under the covers again.

However, in the back of his mind, he knew it would be a great opportunity. First of all it would make him forget Andrea, at least for a while. It was all he wanted at that moment: to forget her and move on. But he could never do it alone. Candice was helping him a lot, but he wanted something more. He wanted a new person in his life, to replace the bad memories caused by his old love.

To clarify his ideas, he decided to call his best friend. She answered almost immediately.

"Hey Grant! What's up?" a female voice asked across the screen.

"Oh... nothing special, they just offered me a co-starring role in a movie hor-"

"WHAT?!" Candice almost yelled, interrupting her colleague's speech.

"Yes, incredible, isn't it?" said the boy, almost ironically. "Fate is mocking."

"That's right, Grant! You must not miss this opportunity! You have already accepted it? And where will they shoot the film?" exclaimed the girl, in ecstasy.

"Um... technically I haven't even considered accepting this proposal... however it will turn in London..."

"Are you kidding,? Grant, can you realize it ? Literally, it's an opportunity that will not come again! Please accept, I will help you with everything else..." begged the actress, hoping to receive a positive response.

"Okay Candy... I'll think about it, really." concluded the colleague, suddenly changing his initial idea after Candice's pleas.

However, Candice decided that she would secretly leave one or two days after him. She didn't trust him alone after everything that had happened to him with Andrea. He could make little daring gestures in her absence and sincerely did not want to leave him at that time.
