"Mary" Polly yells coming in the front door with Tommy walking behind her and shutting the door as i walk down the stairs with Betty in my arms and my dog Dolly following.

"How''s my favorite Granddaughter today" Polly says as she sees Betty and picks her up out of my hands

"So why did you call us here?" Tommy says while we all sit down

"So Michaels coming back in a few days and I kind of haven't told him about Betty" I say and right after Polly pauses from putting Betty in her chair and looks up

"Are you kidding me Mary" Tommy says

"Please don't say anything to him"

"So am i just supposed to lie to my son" Polly asks

"Please Polly for me and your granddaughters sake"

"What do you mean Mary"

"I mean that im afraid"

"Afraid of what Mary"

"That he will find a excuse to say that i'm not a good fit parent and take her away to live with him and his new wife that he's probably is going to get"

"Okay fine but you will tell him when he's here"

"I will"

Michael came a few days later and there was Polly, Me, Betty, and Arthur all waiting at the deck for him. Me and Polly were by the car Betty was inside of it and Arthur was in the telephone booth talking to Tommy. He walked out and the first thing he saw was Me and Polly talking to each other and smoking then he cleared his throat, interrupting us.

"Hello, Mum." he said as Polly dabbed out her cigarette

"This is Gina" he said "Gina Gray the captain married us on board." Polly didn't bat an eye her way instead she turned to me and rolled her eyes

Polly ignored him and then Michael said "She's my wife, Mum At least look at her."

"Tommy said to ask you to tell me the truth." Polly said Ignoring Michael once more

"We've been traveling for 15 days, Mrs. Gray Maybe we could talk about this at another time." Gina said this time I rolled my eyes and she looked at me

"Yes. Let's go home and we can talk." Michael says starting to walk over to us

"You have no home until you tell me the truth." Polly says

"Here?"

"Yeah."

"Michael!": Arthur yells walking out of the telephone booth and over to us "Hello, love. Welcome to Birmingham, eh?" he said to I Gina and then I spoke up "Michael?"

"OK." he said "Our ship docked at Belfast. I was then taken off the ship by two men."

"At gunpoint." Gina interrupted him and I just laughed at her.

"She's speaking to my son." Polly says

"Fuck you." Michael says Polly and then turns and looks at my and says "Fuck you too, Mary." and I just laugh "This is my fucking wife. I bring her home, to this? Come on, Gina." he says and starts walking away before Arthur  steps in front of him

"Well, where are you going now, eh Hmm?"

"Excuse me.?" Gina says

"Look at this. Look at this. This is it, Gina .This is my fucking people." he pauses and begins talking and walking towards us " Do you want to know the truth, Mary? Do you want to know the truth, Mum?"

"I did not betray my fucking family! Now, Mum...I want to go home."

"I've booked you a suite at the Midland Hotel." Polly says

"Was that Tommy's orders, then, was it? See, the Midland Hotel is Tommy's little kingdom where all the porters keep an eye, where all the telephone exchange girls are reporting on my calls." Michael says

"Yeah, well, why don't you think of it like, er, quarantine, Michael, eh?" I say to him then Arthur cuts in and says "We'll treat you like a fucking dog, hmm? Smelly one. Stinking one until we know you're clean, hmm?"

"Fuck you, Arthur." Michael says getting closer to Arthur

"Stand aside, Arthur." Polly says

"No, Poll."

"Come on, baby. Forget about 'em." Gina says as she gives me a death glare and I just smile at her

"Go and phone Tommy, tell him Polly says Michael's telling the truth." Polly says to Arthur as he ignores her "It's all right. Forget about 'em." I say to Arthur as I put Betty in the back and I get in the car.

"All right, Mary."

"Nice coat. What are you like? Camel, right?" Arthur says to

"Oh. Welcome to the family, Gina Gray." Polly says turning around and walking to the car and getting in.

"I told you Polly"

"Told me what?" she asked

"That he would  have a wife"

"Uh Mary"

"and that he doesn't love me anymore" I say and she just starts the car
