"Dear Sofia,
I know from your parents that you are reluctant to come to England with us, but trust me, Burke Manor is a magical place. Beyond some dark corridors where Iris stands, our future home is warm and the memory of Alphard's presence is felt in every room you enter.
Didier and I are very excited to start this new stage of our lives so close to our favorite niece. And we hope that the room you usually use when you come to visit will become your special place. We put up some new stuff and pictures with your parents and friends. Besides, "Eclipse" can sleep in the castle that Didier built last summer.
We want you to feel welcome and enjoy our company and the new experiences you will gain at Hogwarts.
Didier sends you his regards and asked me to tell you that he is excited to be able to discuss Muggle issues with someone who lived so close to them.
Dear niece, I hope I can hug you soon and that your trip is pleasant.
We love you so much,
Amanda and Didier Burke.
P.D: All the changes that exist in our lives are for the better, remember that."
Sofía finished reading the letter from her uncles and smiled. It has been 3 years since she moved to Great Britain. This would be her third year at Hogwarts, and today was the time to return to the castle. She got up quickly from her bed and grabbed her pet to go to the station.
King's Cross was packed with wizards and Muggles going back and forth, each heading to their respective platforms. Sofia's parents were ahead of her, pulling the cart with her belongings. Eclipse, her black cat, was in an animal cage, above all else, since it was dangerous for him to walk around the station, because he could escape.
Behind Sofia came her uncles, Didier and Amanda. Didier is the Muggle Studies teacher at the College, so he would be traveling with Sofia, just as he had been doing for 2 years running. Having him close, being so far from her parents, was something that comforted Sofía. Also, she got along very well with her uncle, and he encouraged her to keep learning about muggles and astrology.
Sofia was wearing jeans, a short-sleeved shirt, a dark green yarn sweater, and black sneakers. She thought about changing on the train to school, as she preferred her clothes and being comfortable. To Sofia, the Hogwarts cloaks seemed nonsense. They only managed to make all the students trip over them or get stuck in unusual places. They were in the 20th century, for Merlin's sake! But it was the uniform, therefore she had to wear it.
As she walked through the station she wondered if this year she would feel more comfortable with her cape, since in previous years she had several embarrassing accidents and her mother had to make her 3 capes a year. Her thoughts were interrupted by her mother's voice calling her name.
"Sofia? We have to go through the wall, what world is your head in, honey?" Her mother said it in a funny and soft tone.
Sofia smiled at her mother's words. "I was thinking about the cloak, mom. And how many will you have to sew this year." Sofia said, while she covered with her hand a small laugh about to come out of her mouth.
Emma, her mother, rolled her eyes and laughed knowingly at her daughter's words. "I hope, for your sake and my sanity, that only one, dear."
"What are my favorite girls talking about?" Sofia's father appeared behind them, making them both jump from the small scare.
"John! Where did you come from? We just saw you in front of us." Sofia's mother said, with her hand on her chest as a sign that her heart was beating very fast.
