Drew the dragon tried not to think about that Bay student he saw at the volleyball game, but it didn't work. Drew knew who he was, of course, he was Blue, star Bay student and mindfulness genius...but did he know who Drew was? Drew pondered it moodily as he stared out across the Drew School courtyard from the breeze way. His teammates on badmitton had noticed how distracted he'd been lately, even though he tried hard to not make it obvious.

Finally, in the last week of October, the thoughts of Blue had finally begun to fade, his piercing blue eyes and shiny teeth and luxurious blue hair memories at last gone....or so Drew thought.

OCTOBER 31ST 2022. OLD POST HOSPITAL.

It was the annual Bay School Halloween party, which was hosted at an abandoned hospital next to Bay. A disco ball hung in the middle of the formerly abandoned hospital basement,  along with orange and black streamers. Pumpkins were carved to look like various aspects of Bay culture, such as toast, the word "Mindfulness" and photorealistic portraits of Bay staffulty. The Luke Felker jack-o-lantern stared Drew the Dragon in the eyes as he entered the room. The party was loud and joyful. Though the event was hosted by Bay, every school in the area knew about it, including Drew School students, but they normally didn't come to this party due to the Drew and Bay rivalry. However, this Halloween, they were there with a motive: to replace every Bay decoration with a Drew School one. Drew the dragon held a pumpkin carved to look like a beloved Drew teacher.

No one at the party could've recognized Drew, nor anyone else from his school. He was dressed like a dragon, but not a green one, like he actually was, but a purple one. Bay would never even know what hit them. He replaced the Luke Felker jack-o-lantern, smiling with victory. He hid it under a table.

"Hey!"

Drew froze. "Shit!" he thought, "They got me!!" He turned around, and his eyes widened.

Blue stood there, the only one not wearing a costume (he has a weird body type its really hard for him to find a costume that fits his hand-like curves). "What are you doing...who are you?"

"Uhhh....I heard some Drew School kids are trying to crash this party so I uhh..I wanted to protect your Luke Felker pumpkin," Drew lied, sweating. Those orbs...those blue orbs..they intrigued him again,,

"Oh!" Blue exclaimed, "Thanks! I'm Blue, by the way!"

"I'm...I'm Dewey.." Drew lied.

"What school are you from?"

"University!"

"Oh! Yeah I think some University students are actually here today!" Blue laughed.

They stood there in silence for a bit, but it wasn't actually silent because Apple Bottom Jeans was playing really loudly in the background from the next room.

"I don't know if this is weird," Blue started, "but do you want to go dance?"

Drew nodded and followed Blue to the next room, not even really knowing why...he...he couldn't dance with him, that was his rival! Not to mention...

"Hey!" Blue interrupted his thoughts, blue hair shining in the disco ball light, "Let's dance!"

Drew forgot what it was that made him hesitant. They danced together, laughing and smiling, the world fading around them. Drew couldn't remember a time he was ever this happy, ever this free! He never wanted it to end. Suddenly, the music switched.

"Alright guys! I know it's only 6 pm, but we're going to have a slow dance song now," the DJ exclaimed. Couples around them held hands and started dancing. Drew felt his face turn red under his purple dragon costume. He started to reach out his hands to Blue's hands...

"Drew! OMG you didn't tell me you were coming to the Bay School Halloween party!!!"

Drew froze, his hands falling to his sides. He could feel Blue staring at him too, as Drew's girlfriend, Deanna (University's mascot, the devil, who's also a real creature and NOT A PERSON IN A COSTUME!!!) ran over to hug him.

"Drew..." Blue looked betrayed, and something else...was he blushing??"

"Uhhh..." Drew said, backing away and out of Deanna's grip, "We should go--" he ran out of the hospital, a few Drew School kids following suit. Left where Drew had stood was a batmitton racket, which he forgot he had in his costume the whole time.

Blue picked it up, looking out at the door mysteriously and broodingly. That dragon...would he ever see him again?
