Jax Pov
It's been like three weeks since the wedding. And three weeks of ignoring game between me and Arielle. And now, I'm at the office doing my work and later I have to meet the summer launching team for updates. This is a busy day for me.
"Jax" it's my dad, he stands in front of my table but I did not bother to look,
"What about now, Dad?" I spoke, he sighed then sits on the chair.
"I'm just wondering. Did you ever take Arielle on a date after the wedding?" he asked, I stopped what I'm doing and sigh,
"No" I simply replied, did we even talk to each other? No.
"Did you ever talked to her? Do you even communicate?" and the answer for that was obvious. No.
This time, I stare at him with straight face.
"What do you think, Dad?" I spoke, he didn't respond
"We don't" I simply replied, he was sighing out of frustrations and disappoinment,
"You're married. Why don't you act like one? I asked you to treat her well, yet a simple conversation wasn't even happening" he spoke, I understand his frustrations but he can't blame me or us,
"As if we're the ones who decided to get married" I spoke, this time I'm the one who's voicing out my frustrations
"Dad, the girl already married me. Can't we just give her a break? She don't want any of this, and that was clear from the start." I spoke,
"It's hard for her to marry me yet she did. Don't force her to like this marriage cause we both hated it. Arielle and I were both having hard times to cope up with this marriage. We're strangers, still" I ended with sighing,
We did what they wanted, and that was to get married. Can't they just let us handle this marriage alone? Can't they just give us a break from all the forcing of things?
He was sighing, and so am I. At this point, I don't even care about what he feels. I can't take any more words about this marriage thing.
I sighed once again and just continue my work while he's still here.
"Fine. Just try to be closer. 12 months is a long time, will you endure not talking to each other?" he spoke, and finally he stands up,
"If you're being like this at any social events, you know the divorce won't be happening any sooner" he added, I just ignored him.
"One more thing. Take her to dates. Even if she don't ask you, just take her. Let her be comfortable around you. Like you said, you're both having hard times, why not rely on each other till the end of your marriage?" he spoke, I'm finding it absurd.
Rely on each other? For what?
"You're the only one she have right now, can't you be there for her? She's away from her parents, and the only person she have right now is you." he spoke, I don't understand it, she can just go to her parents if she don't want to be in our house,
"She's a nice girl. I'm sure she'll be soft to you" he spoke, and he's still hoping for that.
"And you think I'll be soft to her?" I asked, while still doing work. He did not reply, so I stare at him. He looks so done at me.
"I'll think about it, Dad" I spoke then going back to my work, he's sighing again.
"I'll treat her the best I can. Nothing will happen to the girl" I spoke, he finally makes his way to the door.
