Mrs. Williams stood up calmly and followed her husband in the garage. She found him under the car fixing a leaky oil. The bonnet was wide open.

Mrs. Williams stood with her hands akimbo by the door way. She diligently watched him as he tweaked the car and made quite a racket with his tools.

He tried reaching up to the tool box which was on the table using his fingers but he failed. He could have let lose a pipe he was holding to get the tool himself but that would cause a fault and a mess.

"Tell me what you need and I will give it to you," insisted Mrs. Williams.

"Oh gracious, you are a life saver. Can you give me a screw driver? It's actually on top of other tools," said Mr. Williams in delight.

Mrs. Williams handed him the screw driver and said, "Maybe you can also give Kimberly the permission she deserves."

He sighed, rolled out and sat upright.

"I thought I made that clear at the table. This conversation will not continue," said Mr. Williams.

"Yes you made that clear for Kimberly. But you didn't make that clear for me. I don't understand why you would simply say no to such an offer."

He replied, "First of all, it's quite expensive. And I think that the person or friend organizing the trip really has a budget to look to. Secondly, I would allow her to go anywhere in the world apart from Green Forest Resort.  Must I remind you that the place is haunted?"

"And so what?" replied Mrs. Williams, "This house is also haunted. Isn't it? But here we are living happily. No one in this house has ever complained about seeing a ghost or hearing strange sounds in this house. Yes, everyone in our neighbourhood have heard of the rumours of Green Forest Resorts, but the important question is: are they true? Even if they are true, should we start fearing ghosts now?"

"Dear please I am a bit busy right now. Can we talk about this later?"

Mrs. Williams sighed and walked out into the dining room to clean the table.

For the rest of the day, Kimberly developed an isolation attitude. She wanted to be by herself. She stayed up in her room and only came out when it was time for dinner. Mr. Williams was not pleased with Kimberly’s attitude towards him. He tried talking to her but Kimberly didn't reply. She ate her food quietly. When she had about enough food she pattered up the stairs and locked herself in her room.

"Is this how we are going to be living from now on?" said Mrs. Williams aloud, "Life is short. We have to make use of it."

Mr. Williams walked up the stairs to Kimberly's door. He knocked on the door for some time. But there was no reply from Kimberly. When he didn't get a reply from Kimberly for some time he walked back down stairs with a melancholy face.

He walked passed Mrs. Williams, entered his bedroom. He sat down on the chair to read, he opened a book but his mind was too troubled to concentrate on his reading. He opened a drawer. There was a framed photo in the drawer. On the photo was Mr. Williams and his friend James.

Mrs. Williams walked inside the bedroom and saw Mr. Williams holding up the framed photo. She didn't say anything, she walked to her bed.

Mr. Williams was going through the drawer until he came across a colourful flyer. There were pictures of theatres, roller-coaters and different sorts rides. He diligently skimmed through the one page flyer which read:

FAMILY WORLD PARK

Come and enjoy the games and activities with your family. We have everything that you might dream about. We have toys and rides for ages. We have restaurants and a cinema for entertainment.

Come and have fun with your family at Family World Park.

Working hours:

Saturdays and Sundays: 08 to 14:00hrs.

Mondays – Friday: 08 to 18:00hrs.

See you there!!!

He had a smile on his face after reading the advert on the flyer. He thought of an idea of taking both Mrs. Williams and Kimberly to the Family World Park. He thought to himself, "Tomorrow would be a great day."

He then folded the flyer and placed it gently back in the drawer. Now that his mind was at peace, he opened and read the book he opened earlier.

The next day Mr. Williams woke up quite early. When Mrs. Williams woke up and noticed that her husband was not on the bed, she was surprised. She rolled out of bed and began looking for Mr. Williams.

She heard the smacking of the tools in the garage. She followed the sounds and found Mr. Williams under the car.

"I thought you fixed the car yesterday. Must you wake up very early to fix it," said Mrs. Williams aloud.

"Oh good morning my lovely wife," replied Mrs. Williams.

Raising an eyebrow, Mrs. Williams said, "You seem to be in a good mood today."

"As a matter of fact I am in a good mood. I woke up quite early today because I aim to finish fixing the car before the sun sets today," he explained.

"Why the rush? Any special occasion?" she asked curiously.

"It's a surprise. Do me a favour and keep it a secret while you let Kimberly know that she should prepare," he replied.

"But I hardly know what the surprise is, how can I not keep it?"

He chuckled, "I have already said a lot."

Mrs. Williams didn't say anything, she left Mr. Williams to do his work.

She walked up to Kimberly's room. She knocked softly.

“Mother, is that you?”

“Yes it is me, dear.”

“Are you alone?” demanded Kimberly.

Mrs. Williams opened the door and walked in slowly.

Kimberly was lying on the bed starring at the ceiling fan as it rotated on its axis. She sighed and said cheekily, “I did not say come in.”

Mrs. Williams ignored Kimberly's cheekiness and replied, “What didn’t you say?”

“Come in,” Kimberly repeated.

Mrs. Williams chuckled, “Well, that sounds like a come in to me.” She pulled Kimberly up and made her seat upright.

"Well I am only a messenger of your father. He is from informing me that he has a surprise for you and me."

"And what kind of surprise is it?" Kimberly asked impatiently.

"Just like you, I have no idea," she then whispered, "But I sense that he wants to take us out. You should do me a favour and wear something nice."
