After the discussion Louis had with Niall, he decided he was going to text Liam.
"What do I say?" Louis says as he stares at Liam's contact in his phone.
Niall sighs as he plops down beside him with a bowl of ice cream in his lap. He shoved a spoon full in his mouth as he pointed to Louis' phone with the spoon. "Just tell him you want to talk. Tell him to come over."
Louis looks back at his phone, biting the inside of his cheek. "I can't face him yet, Niall."
Niall nodded as he kissed the side of Louis' face. "Then tell him to call then if that's easier for you."
Louis nods, looking back at his phone. His fingers hover over the keyboard as he glances to Niall. "You'll stay with me?"
Niall nods again, taking another spoon full of ice cream into his mouth. "Of course!" He gives Louis a chocolate toothed smile and Louis shakes his head as he smiles.
"Thank you."
He looks back down at his phone, sighing before he finally starts typing.
Louis:
Hey. I think I'm finally ready to talk now. Not in person. Not yet... over the phone would be best. For now... I promise we'll talk in person soon, Li."
Louis looks back at Niall, whose reading the message over his shoulder, for reassurance. Niall smiles and nods.
"Perfect. Now send it."
Louis hits send and sets his phone down on the coffee table infront of them. Niall leans back with his hands behind his head, resting his feet on the coffee table as he does.
"And now, we wait."
Niall reached down for the remote and turns the tv on. Niall flips to a movie channel, and starts watching. Louis doesn't pay it much attention though. His mind is on Liam and the conversation they're about to have. He doesn't really know what Liam will say, or the direction he wants the conversation to go in general. He's flustered, ringing his hands as he glances to his phone.
He knows there's a big chance Harry will be brought up; and an even bigger chance Harry will be with him. That thought alone makes Louis' heart race.
The only thing that keeps him from having a full blown panic attack is the fact that he won't have to face Liam yet. He'll be able to hide the emotions on his face. At least he has that in his favor.
Still; he wasn't prepared for this. Not in the slightest. Having to talk to Liam about why he's upset, and why he's been avoiding him. Feelings weren't his strong suite, and talking about his feelings was even worse.
He glances to his phone again, sighing when he sees Liam still hadn't called or texted. Niall reaches over and pats his shoulder.
"Give it time, mate. He'll call."
Louis leans into Niall's touch and nods. He knows he will, he just didn't want to have to wait for it. His nerves are getting the best of him right now. He's scared if Liam waits any longer Louis will lose the nerve to even talk to him.
As Louis gets lost in fee thought his phone buzzes. He jumps up, grabbing it quickly.
Liam 💜 calling...
Louis looks over to Niall, swallowing hard as he does. "Ready?"
Niall says. Louis nods. "Ready."
Louis finally pressed the green button, slowly bringing the phone to his ear. He can hear Liam's light breathing on the other end.
"Lou?"
