Felipe
Felipe had closed the door behind him with a thud. Their heart was racing. They took a moment to scan the room. There was only a large cage in the room, nothing else, and Queen Odion was standing in there. It was a square iron cage. Queen Odion was wearing a long white silk dress that was stained with blood. She was distressed and in agony. There were shouts coming from the living room that Felipe had left behind but they ignored it.
"Your Majesty! I'm one of your subjects, Felipe Economou." Felipe said hastily. "I've come- We've come to save you." They took a step toward the cage.
"Wait!" Odion put her hands up. "It's been enchanted."
Felipe started fidgeting their hands. "I see, I see." They muttered. The shouts were growing louder. Felipe heard Izumi's name being shouted multiple times, that's when they got pulled into a vision with a gasp. They saw Izumi lying dead in the living room of Morana. It made them scream their lungs out. Felipe always felt pain in his chest when someone died. When they came back to their senses they saw the horrified look on the queen's face who was covering her ears. "I have to save Izumi." Felipe gabbled.
"You broke the barrier with your vocal chords." The only problem was unlocking the cage. "Morana has the queen on her necklace, it's impossible to get it without killing her and trust me she is a vigorous fighter."
"Stellan is a witch, he could free you with his powers but he's fighting back there." Felipe pointed at the living room with his thumb. Then as if on cue, Corporal Werner kicked the door behind Felipe open. Felipe took a deep breath in to shriek but they released it when they realised who it was.
"My queen." Werner rushed towards the cage. She put her hand on the lock and cast a spell on it which unlocked it. Queen Odion hugged her loyal soldier. Werner held Felipe by his shoulders. "I'm going to sneak the queen out of the castle with General Karaman. Keep distracting Morana." Felipe nodded stiffly. Werner opened a trapdoor that was located in the corner of the room, she left with Odion following her. Odion closed the door behind her. Felipe returned to the chaos of the living room. They saw Izumi fighting Beeja and thought that Beeja was on the enemy's side but after looking into the dark sockets of Izumi's eyes, they quickly realised that it was the other way around. Felipe couldn't help thinking about the premonition of Izumi's death. How were they going to prevent it if Izumi wasn't herself? There was no time to think, Felipe had to join the fight. Nadia and Stellan were fighting Morana together. Felipe had to choose between helping Beeja and the others. Felipe decided to help Beeja by hurting Izumi's ears but their voice had no effect on her anymore, probably because she was corrupted by Morana's powers. Felipe had no combat skills, they were nothing without their powers. They felt like a worthless coward by standing and watching their friends fight for their lives. Felipe closed their eyes and focused on the sounds Morana was radiating; her heartbeat, the movement of her body, the rage in her voice, the sound of her powers. They tried manipulating the audio of Morana into putting pressure on herself by every move she made. It worked but only for a short moment. Morana blasted Felipe with an airwave which send them flying backwards until they hit the wall and fell to the floor. Their head throbbed and they felt dizzy. Nadia helped them get up as Stellan hit Morana back by using light.
"Stellan, I'm going to create a distraction. You have to shield us and then we have to get the hell out of here. The queen is already being saved." Felipe manipulated sound so that only Stellan, Nadia and Beeja could hear them. "Beeja, try to take Izumi without harming her. If you can't then leave her behind. No questions asked." Felipe tried to be as assertive as they could be. Then they created an earthquake in the room with their powers. It made them all wobbly as they felt distorted. Stellan did as Felipe told him and created a shield around the team. Beeja couldn't take Izumi because she wouldn't stop trying to kill her. They left Izumi and Morana behind. The hallways weren't shaking so they found their footing and ran with all their might. The guards were snoring on the ground, still affected by the gardenia's. They jumped over them and reached the entrance hall but were stopped when a blade passed by them, almost piercing Felipe who was ahead of the rest. The blade pierced the wall next to the entrance gate instead. It was Izumi who threw it, she stood on the lowest steps of the stairs with her right arm stretched out.
"Not so fast." Her voice was coarse.
"I'm so sorry Izumi. How can I save you?" Beeja's voice cracked and a tear slipped from her eye.
"Save me? I need no saving. But you on the other hand..." She ran towards Beeja and lunged forward. Felipe, Nadia and Stellan all watched in dismay. Nadia grew vines around Izumi's legs to keep her in place but she cut them off and threw herself on Beeja. Beeja fell to the ground with Izumi on top of her with a knife in her hand. It was pointed at Beeja's heart.
"If I try to hit Izumi, I might accidentally hit Beeja." Stellan groaned.
"My powers don't work on her." Felipe bleated.
"They're moving too quickly for me and if I grow a gardenia it will put us all in a deep slumber." Nadia bit her lip. Beeja held Izumi's hand away from her heart and smacked her face with her elbow. Then Beeja rolled around and got on top of her.
"Izumi, I know you're in there. Please, stop!" Beeja cried out. But was Izumi truly there? Could they rely on the hopes of that? Even if she wasn't herself, they couldn't end her life. Izumi was still holding the knife. Beeja held Izumi's hands together with all of her strength but Izumi escaped her grip. Before she could stab Beeja's heart, Beeja turned the knife around and it pierced Izumi's heart. Beeja's hands were trembling, her eyes were swelling up with tears. Felipe let out a wail that shaked the whole castle. "I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry..." Beeja kept repeating as she watched the darkness leave Izumi's body. She returned to herself but it was too late.
"I forgive you." Izumi said weakly. "I love you. All of you. Save yourselves." Those were the last words Izumi ever spoke. Her eyes closed as her soul left her body forever. All mobility in her body ended. Beeja cried as she cupped Izumi's face. Even in her final moments, Izumi thought of their well-being. Izumi might have forgiven Beeja but Beeja didn't think she could ever forgive herself. If she never betrayed them, this wouldn't have happened. But Beeja never intended to fall in love with the people she was deceiving. It was as if the knife pierced both their hearts. There was no healing possible for this mark. Beeja lost the only person she ever loved and the only person that ever loved her.
