We then proceeded to a large hall that had seating for everyone in it. Upon asking Bella what everyone was doing, she explained, "Every year the principal holds an auction party for each class. Today was their class's turn." The item to be auctioned was a luxurious diamond watch valued at more than 20 million dollars. I have heard Diana mention it a few times, and sometimes she brings back cool stuff from the place as well. Therefore, I was not at all surprised when she mentioned it. Because $20m was nothing in comparison to what my parents had, I was interested in the offer. At that moment, however, Bianca and a boy named Adrian got into a heated bidding war over the item. He was a male model and was the face of almost all magazines. As he groomed it with care, the lush, gold-colored hair, he maintained so meticulously, a sign that he was in good health.

In addition to the prominent cheekbone he possessed, the aquiline nose he wore complimented them. Despite his understated charm,  his Spartan shoulders spoke volumes about the strength of a man. In addition to displaying latent grace, he walked with purpose and authority at all times, as though he had hidden power.

People had always remarked that his most attractive feature was his entrancing, wayfarer-blue eyes. Sloe-shaped, they could shine as bright as the evening stars when they were alight with joy. At other times, they resemble two liquid-blue pools of flashing fire. The room was always filled with his sonorous, rumbling voice. He was also quick to crack a joke. His taste of clothes was a source of amusement for some, not least because they emanated an herbal smell. As well as being the son of billionaire IT parents, he was also the same boy who helped me with the door. Bella told me he was one of the most popular guys in school, Adrian started with $30m while Bianca $50m then Adrian said $80m after Bianca said $90m soon later there was silence so I said $100m everyone turned to the back surprisingly at me then the principal asked if anyone else wanted to move higher but with no response I got the watch later Bianca came offering me a hand in a flirty way she said "Nice battle" but I just smiled and left.

After school, Adrian came up to me "Hey bro, nice bidding" and stretched his hands for a handshake. I didn't want to reject it so I accepted. Bella came to hug me for my first bid, and we headed to a nearby restaurant and talked all day about school.

During our finals week, when the results of the exams were posted in the school bulletins I was so happy when I saw my name on the top spot but I could see how surprised Tessa was to see my name, while she was walking out she suddenly bumped into me, "If you are curious, you could just ask" I said smirking "You haven't been in our school for a full year, OK then why don't you tell" she said "It's a secret, you have to come a bit closer" I said, she was curious so she obeyed, then I bent my head close to her ears, I brushed a strand of hair and whispered "I'm just really, really smart, smarter than you for sure" I said "I might be smarter than Einstein himself" I added bragging then turned and left. I knew I spoke like a jerk but who wouldn't drool over a character like mine my mood became better when I felt her staring at me. My parents were right, this school made me more intelligent.

After a few days, the principal of the school announced the annual competition between private schools, which was titled Battle of the Brains. Having the opportunity to represent my school alongside Tessa was such an honour for me, and I was ecstatic when I was selected. It seems destiny always brings us together, so I told Tessa to meet me in the school's music room to discuss the competition. But I came a bit later than the time we discussed "Why are you late?" she asked "I had a little problem I needed to solve" I said "Well, let's begin" she said reaching out for a sit "We need a strategy luckily I've been to most of the competition and its mostly on equations and programming so you are gonna work on equations while I do the programming aspect" she said "Why don't I work on the programming while you do the equations" I said "Just stick to what I said so I could finally get that shiny cup" she said smiling into the thin air.

"Wow, she was such a cute nerd," I thought to myself. After weeks of training and practicing, it was finally competition day. The school arranged a vehicle to take us. I could see how nervous Tessa was. It looked like she had been working all night. Her face looked really tired underneath her makeup. On our way there, there was an awkward silence that filled the car. Soon after, Tessa began to sleep. She placed her head on my shoulders. I didn't know whether to stay still or try to move her. Suddenly the car had a bump. Tessa woke up and her cheeks flushed with red😳 when she realized she'd been sleeping on my shoulders. I almost laughed at her facial expression.

At the end of the competition, we won second place. Tessa was right about equations and programming. The equations were much easier and less complicated. As a reward for our efforts, the head teacher gave us a few gifts.

The next week, I woke up late so I rushed to bathe, brush, and eat within ten minutes, this surely was a world record, later the driver dropped me off at school. Luckily, I made it to my first class. We were having science class. I barely understood any of the practicals we did and to worsen the situation, he gave us a group project and I was paired with Tessa. We had perfect chemistry so it was no problem.

During lunchtime I saw Tessa in the library with some of her friends so I walked up to her "Yoo" I said "Oh hi axle" she replied raising her head "I'm Axle, your new science partner" I said, I'm pretty sure she knew my name tho, "I'm tessa" she replied smiling "So I was wondering if we could make time to study together for our science project" I said "That would be great at least you take the project seriously not like my former partner, let's make it tomorrow in the library" "That's perfect" I said then left. I was so happy that that went great. Tessa wasn't going to be a problem I thought, We came up with really cool ideas for our projects and we usually ended up at either of our houses to work on them

Upon my arrival at school the next day, I saw everyone gathered in the parking lot including the principal and some teachers. I decided to see what all the fuss was about. It was Chase, the son of a billionaire royal family. He is the son of a Saudi Arabian king. He's one of my father's big-time business partners, he's a foreign exchange student and he came to school with a freaking golden helicopter. As he came down his bodyguards rolled a red carpet for him. "What an entrance," I thought to myself, All the girls were buzzing all over him including the teachers, a moment later he picked up a megaphone and said "Attention everyone, call yourselves lucky because I'll be joining your school today" he was pompous and it made me angry so I just walked off.

Later in the library, Tessa and I were studying for our project when Chase walked up to us, Tessa and Chase hugged themselves and spun around, it turns out they had been childhood friends and haven't seen themselves for years so it didn't bother me until he said "Missed you gorgeous" "I miss you too, handsome" Tessa replied "What in the freaking potatoes is going on" I thought to myself just then he spotted me "Wow, is this your new boyfriend, you replaced me already?" he said chuckling "Axle is not my boyfriend, he's my science partner silly, "Not for long" I thought "And what are you doing here?"", you are the last person I wanted to see in a library" Tessa answered, "Nothing just looking forward to the tour around the school, you promised me" he responded "Oh yea I forgot, Axle since your new here too, wanna come along?" she asked "Sure it would be fun" I replied "Tessa, you couldn't even introduce me to your friend" he said "Sorry about that, Axle this is Chase, my childhood friend, Chase meet Axle, we glared at each other then we later shake each other, he ended up asking her for dinner that night so they could catch up, I stood up and left, he was such a pain in the butt.
