life after the horrific day

day of the party

July 4 , 1932 

On the day of the party, Annie didn't want to leave her room

grace was asking any of the staff if they had seen Annie

the butler drake said she locked herself in her room and won't come out

so grace asked Oliver to go talk to Annie she won't leave her room

Oliver went up and knocked on the door

Oliver said sweetheart it's me can I come in

Annie said sure

you'll need to unlock the door to let me in, sweetheart said Oliver 

Annie in tears said is the bad man and his girlfriend out there 

Oliver told her she was going to be fine 

but after 5 mins of no luck in getting her downstairs to the party grace comes up and knocks on the door to see Annie looking like she had seen a ghost or something 

grace asked what's wrong? 

Oliver says that she thinks that her kidnapper and his girlfriend are at the party in disguise and won't come out 

grace gets an idea hey Annie if daddy or I hold your hand will you come downstairs please you look so pretty in that dress and you were so excited for this party will you try for me

Annie says in a shy voice I guess I'll try. 

then gets an idea but, only if you daddy hold my hands. I don't know any of your friends now I'm not a shy kid it's just I got that weird feeling again in my stomach like that night I was kidnapped and I only get it when I feel something is gonna go wrong 

Oliver and grace both look at each other and back at Annie with a smile and said sure we'll do that if you promise to not just run back upstairs as soon as you make it downstairs because all your friends are here

Annie looked at grace and said if you are somewhere nearby mama I'll stay. unless my friends want to see my room that's different right?

Oliver says not today and just today nobody's allowed in your room because we want to celebrate you today ok sweetheart besides again you were so excited about the party anyways well let's go down 

they take Annie down and she sees her friends from the orphanage and has a blast till Annie sees  something in the distance that made her so scared 

Annie runs back inside to the nearest bathroom and hides cuz she thought she saw miss Hannigan's brother and his girlfriend her friends run to grace and tell her what happened grace didn't see her run so nobody knew if she went upstairs or is still downstairs so they stop the party and send everyone home the party was only on for 2 hours but it was dark out so everyone was agreeably ok with going home except for the people Annie saw which were her kidnapper's 

grace and Oliver and all the staff were searching high and low for Annie yelling her name but she was just sitting on the bathroom floor with the lights off having a panic attack and couldn't hear them until

after 30 minutes of searching, grace opened the door to that bathroom and with a sigh of relief, she yelled to everyone I found her!

 seeing her in a ball sobbing because she saw those people again Annie said in hard to breathe sentence 

the bad man, 

and his girlfriend, 

are out there,

I'm not leaving this spot,  

not till you do a head check, 

mama, please stay with me.

grace picks up Annie because she was so scared she needed to hold her to calm her somehow and thinks to herself realizing that if Annie is right then they're somewhere in the house because she has never lied to them especially when she is so scared she could barely talk so she finds butler drake and Oliver and explaining everything to them and they do a head check 

 Oliver sees one of those two people roaming in the distance and he tells grace to take Annie with her here's my key take this and unlock his office and call the police 

grace takes Annie and runs to his office locking it back before they could get in

she called the police 

 now is wondering how those two got out of Ryker's island and why nobody notified us about it

 then when the police arrived she asked them why they didn't get notified about it they didn't know either

 but, finally, when everything calmed down

 Grace looked at Annie who was still in her arms and by now asleep asks Oliver to help put her to bed 

she handed Annie to him and they walk to her room and put her to bed
