If this series was a hypothetical film, here's all the songs I associate with the important scenes/moments   :)

« ───── « ⋅ʚ ☽ ☼ ☾ ɞ⋅ » ───── »

• quiet town - the Killers
--> i feel like this song would play as Orion is walking to school in the first chapter, and then again with the group walking through the streets on one of their endeavors. I've come to think about it as the "theme song" in a way for the story, about a small town and the sinister things lurking within.

• bad idea - girl in Red
--> becuase it feels like a crime not to add this masterpiece on here, considering the title of the story :)

• everybody wants to rule the world - tears for fears
--> everyone hanging out at the creek and enjoying themselves shortly before everything goes to hell. I could see Elliot playing this on his phone when they're all together.

• cutthroat - S U R V I V E
--> when they enter the tunnel for the first time- and Sam goes missing

• Sam's town - the Killers
--> a song that feels like the general atmosphere in the days after Sam's disappearance, of a once peacefull place slowly starting to crumble.

• the return - Kyle Dixon and Micheal Stein
--> the first 'memory' that Orion has while back in the tunnel after they returned and found the first body

• Talk - Hozier
--> everyone walking back home in the dark afterwards. Knowing that something has shifted in the dynamic of quiet complacency, and that they can't ever be idle about this again.

• don't delete the kisses - wolf Alice
--> Xen and Orion sneaking out and heading to the stone bridge

• its called: free fall- rainbow kitten surprise
--> Orion coming out to Xen. (Xen also likes to listen to this song when they're doing art.)

• where is my mind - pixies
--> immediatly after Orion's second 'memory scene' in their room. Realizing that there's a dark force behind it all that holds more intoned secrets than they can even comprehend.

• sidewalks and skeletons - goth [slowed + reverb version]
--> everyone walking through the streets at dawn, on their way to the creek for the last time.

• me and your mama - childish Gambino
-->  everyone breaking into the tunnel. (I can imagine a cool edit to this of Elliot smashing open the concrete wall with his sledgehammer)

square hammer - Ghost
--> another "Elliot smashing stuff with a sledgehammer" type song. It just fits really well.

• guns for hire - woodkid
--> when they first find Sam in the tunnel

•  SEGA SUNSET - Lorn
-->  when everything discovers all the fucked up stuff inside the tunnel and how it all connects back to everything

• I know what I saw - Kyle Dixon and Micheal Stein
--> orion catching on fire and being carried out :((

• silver soul by beach house
--> when they're all leaving the bookstore and driving back to Stoneridge. (Also, the intro of it reminds me of like nature sounds which reminds me of their fictional creek and that just made me stimultaniously so happy and sad at the same time.)

• sleep on the floor - the lumineres
--> no idea where this song specifically fits but it just encompasses the vibes of the story so immaculately. About a group of kids trying to make the most of a quiet town and trying to escape the monotony that comes with it.

• gilded lilly - cults
--> this song just reminds me of Sam and how much she's been through and how she's so frustrated that she's still struggling months later. (despite the fact that it's okay)
