Chapter 4

"...you call me up again just to break me like a promise, so casually cruel in the name of being honest" I sang Taylor Swift's all to well, while setting the last stack of albums of my shift.

"I'm a crumpled up piece of paper lying here, cause I remember it all...all...all..." I continued to sing,"to well."

"Nice voice you got there" Lucas suddenly showed up beside me.

"Thank you, but no. Its just something I enjoy doing" I laughed slightly.

"Well, it seems like you're good at it" He smiled.

I smiled back, "Hopefully"

"You're done?" He asked.

"Yeah, just a few more albums and, I'm out of here" I said, putting some more albums on the rack.

"Want me to help you?" He offered.

"No, its okay" I rejected it, he seriously is too kind,"I'm almost done anyway"

"Oh come on. Just let me help you" He insisted. "I know your first impression about me is I'm that clumsy, I even get cereal boxes knocked me down on the floor" he said,"but trust me, I can help you.

I was trying my best to hold my laugh, remembering that incident.

"Sure then. Go ahead" I smiled to him.

"Finally..." He mumbled.

I chuckled.

"And, that was the last one" I said, putting my hands on my hip.

"Great" He sighed. "Ready to go?"

"Yes. Let me get my things, confirm my supervisor and bid goodbye to everybody here" I said, "just wait outside"

"Okay" he said walking away.

I went to the staff room, open mu locker and took my things. I went to my supervisor, end my summer contract and got my last paycheck.

I bid good bye to almost all of the staff there.

"Bye honey, don't forget to keep contact with me okay?" Mandy said, hugging me.

"Of course" I said, letting go if the hug, "we can hang out together".

"Sure!"

"Bye, Mandy!" I waved.

"Bye Anna!" She said, walking away.

Now, all I got to do is to say goodbye to Sam.

"Bye Annie" he said, hugging me really tight, "don't forget to keep in touch and tell me everything".

I laughed. "Don't worry, I will" I said.

"Just call me if you want to meet and we can grab a coffee" He let go of the hug, and smiled at me.

"Okay" I smiled back. "Bye, Sammy"

"Bye, Annie" He waved, I waved back and walked away.

I walked outside and greeted by Lucas listening to music and moving around while snapping his fingers. When he saw me, he took off his earphones.

"Finish?" He asked.

"Yeah" I smiled,"I'm glad this summer job is finally over".

"Well, what we're gonna get next are endless home works and tons of assignment" He scoffed.

I laughed."I agree"

"So, ready to go to the stationary store?"

"Of course" I said, "let me call my brother first".
