Aphmau's POV

I saw Ivy and her gang glaring at me from across the hall, so I started walking faster to my class. I looked back for a second and realized they were running towards me, so I booked it and ran as fast as I could to my classroom and made it just in time before they could catch me. I sat down at my desk and took a quick look around. My classmates were looking around too, making sure no one was staring and whispering or laughing. It wasn't like it would be unusual if they were.

Everyone in this school had their demons. But that didn't mean we were going to act differently about them. So instead of sitting there, I kept quiet and waited for class to start. After about 10 minutes, Mr. Moseley entered the room and everyone began to pay attention. He started talking about something, but I didn't pay attention to what it was he was saying.

The only thing on my mind right now was how close they got to me before making it into class. Ivy and her group had never liked me ever since I enrolled at Phoenix Drop High, her and a handful of others at school. No matter what I did, they constantly hit me with insult after insult and would beat the shit out of me. Sometimes it was worse than others, they're trying to taunt me until I snap, Luckily they haven't gotten me to that point yet thank god.

They always found some way to make fun of me. And I wasn't ready to face another round of these sick jokes. I didn't feel like getting hurt today, emotionally or physically. I knew they would most likely come after me again eventually, whether that was after this period or after school, but I hoped it wouldn't happen for a while and that I would get through the day scot-free. I was sick of taking beatings and being yelled at. The only reason I even stayed was because of FC, he was the only thing keeping me going through this horrible nightmare of an existence.

FC was the reason I was able to get through all this bullshit I went through without breaking down. Without him, I'd have probably snapped a long time ago. The teacher walked into the room and Mr. Moseley started talking about something. I closed my eyes and regulated my breathing. I heard someone clear their throat next to me and opened my eyes surprised to see Aaron sitting next to me.

"Hey." He said with a small smile and nodded his head toward me. "Hi," I replied shyly. "How are you?" I asked but he shrugged and looked away, "Fine, I guess." He replied flatly, I didn't believe him, but I let it slide since I didn't know him and didn't want to pry since it wasn't any of my business.

He was leaning forward slightly, his hand resting under his chin with an almost bored expression on his face. I sighed softly and leaned back in my chair. I didn't want to deal with anything already, especially today. "What are you doing?" He asked looking down at my notebook. I glanced up at him slightly before looking back down at my notebook. "I'm taking notes." I replied confused "You don't need to write notes. You can take notes after class, he posts the notes after class."

I gave him a sarcastic chuckle, "And forget about doing it later? Please, I have a better idea!" He tilted his head to the side, thinking about my plan. I smiled at him and watched as the corner of his mouth curled upwards ever so slightly. I knew he was teasing me. He seemed to find enjoyment in it. It reminded me of someone I know. Someone who cared more than anyone else in the world. For some reason it made my heart flutter a bit every time.

After he helped me we grew a bit closer since then, whatever classes we have together he always sits near me and converses with me before class or during class. I don't know if I could consider us friends because it's never been established if we are or not. But personally, I'd like to believe that we're friends since he's the first person to show kindness towards me in a while and that felt nice to have. Thinking about the possibility made a small smile appear on my face.
