He scoffs. Before he can say anything, I thrust the food into his arms. "Y - you need t - to eat s - so you can k - keep up your s - strength," I mutter before walking (at a fastpace ) back inside. I grab my plate from the kitchen and run to my room. My plate is finished quickly and I fall fast asleep.
~Time skip ~
I wake up the next morning early. After I do a quick head count and confirm that everyone is asleep, I head outside to do chores. First thing I do pick vegetables. My garden is full of potatoes, carrots, corn, wheat, beans, and tomatoes. After climbing a few trees, I grab fifteen eggs. As compensation to the birds, I sprinkle some corn in the now empty nests. I run back inside the house and cook five plates of potatoes and eggs. After picking vegetables, I do laundry. I grab my own dirty clothes as well as the dirty pile if clothing of my guests. While I am inside, I make sure everybody is still asleep.
Last is taking care of the animals. I take twelve carrots and a brush, and tend to my guests' horses. Each horse gets two carrots plus some grain I grew myself. Once their animals are fed and brushed, I take care of mine. Stonewall is a dark black horse who is very tall. It is an honor to be able to train such a beautiful horse. I found him roaming around the titans a few years ago. Stonewall is the only thing I've ever talked to besides. . . my parents. My eyes well up with tears as I brush Stonewall. My parents were good people. Why did they have to go? Why did those men kill them? Tears are running down my face by now. I sniff and quickly compose myself. Suddenly, Stonewall nuzzles my face. "Stonewall!" I giggle. He doesn't stop, and continues to play with me. "Hey stop it! That tickles!" He and I play for a while, until I hear footsteps coming. I quickly stand and look for the people who snuck up on me. The group stands there, watching and smiling. "Uh, morning," I say, unsure of what to say. "Good morning Kaitlin! Thank you for breakfast. Did you eat? I'm not hungry, so you can eat my-" Petra begins, concerned. I shake my head no. "I will eat a carrot in a moment. Eat your food. You'll need to keep your strength up if you want to get back to the Walls." The group's eyes widen in relization of how gar from home they are. "Yes, of course. Thank you," Petra says before she goes back in with the others.
