Chapter 5: Wolves

Firestar ran downstairs in fright as she puts on her cloak when Knockout and Breakdown saw her running and heading toward the castle doors. "Where are you going?" Knockout asked. "Promise or no promise, I can't stay here another minute!" Firestar told Knockout and Breakdown. "Oh, no, no, please! Please, wait!" said Breakdown, but Firestar closes the castle doors once she went outside where she ran across the bridge and to the castle gates. Knockout and Breakdown went to tell their master that Firestar has run outside the castle and is heading to the Forbidden Forest during wintertime.

Firestar ran through the Forbidden Forest alone while it was dark and snowing outside. She was wearing her cloak and she wanted to find her way back home when she suddenly heard the sounds of wolves howling. She knew that she had to run for it before the wolves would find her and she'd be in great danger. Meanwhile, Megatron was feeling guilty that he frightened Firestar when Knockout and Breakdown came to the West Wing to inform him about Firestar running into the Forbidden Forest. "Master!" Knockout yelled. "What is it, Knockout?" Megatron asked. "It's Firestar. She ran outside the castle and into the Forbidden Forest. She could be in danger!" Knockout explained. Megatron was now worried for Firestar as he knew that she would be in danger because of the cold winter and the wolves that live in the Forbidden Woods. So he rushed downstairs and went to find Firestar. Back in the Forbidden Forest, Firestar was growing exhausted and she was freezing when she saw some wolves. She was more terrified than ever as she felt her life being put in danger.

The wolves had Firestar surrounded as they growled and they were preparing to attack her. But just when it seems that Firestar would be killed by the wolves, Megatron came just in time to rescue her as he fought against the vicious wolves. But during the fight, Megatron's neck got bitten and clawed by one of the strong wolves as he was getting each one off him while keeping Firestar safe. As the wolves soon ran for it knowing they couldn't stop Megatron, but as Firestar was shocked at what she witnessed, she then saw Megatron to then feel the pain in his neck and some parts of his body from the battle before he passed out. Firestar was in shock at what she'd seen, but...she knew she didn't wish to leave Megatron behind in the cold snow, she then takes off her cloak and wraps it around Megatron. With this, Firestar began to carry Megatron over her shoulders and began then returned to the castle. Several hours later, Megatron was in bandages thanks to Knock Out and Breakdown as he sat down in his chair, but he witnessed Firestar grabbing a wet hot cloth and trying to clean off the blue-colored blood. In the second that Megatron then felt part of his arm touched by the cloth, he hissed under his breath, feeling the pain on him.

"O-Ouch!! That hurts!" Megatron yelled, not liking the pain. "If you'd hold still, it wouldn't hurt as much," Firestar said, soon to look a little upset. "If you didn't run away, this mess wouldn't of happened," Megatron spoke, still angered by Firestar running away after she came to his room. "Well if you hadn't frightened me, I wouldn't of run away!" Firestar then spoke, which made Megatron silent and then remember the guilt. Megatron was silent for a few minutes but then sighed softly, knowing that Firestar was correct. "You're right...I, very deeply, apologize for my anger. It was that I did not wish for the rose to be damaged as it is..." He paused before taking a deep breath before the other robots slowly walked towards him. "It is part of a curse that I am under, as the result of me being a spoiled, selfish and unkind person. But...I wasn't always like this, I used to have a mother and father with me. But when they went missing and the people claimed they'd died, it made me forever feel heartbroken, feeling like I would never feel love ever again. To that day, I still have regrets about it." Megatron calmly spoke, knowing that Firestar couldn't believe in him. But to this silence in the room, Firestar slowly held Megatron's hand, believing in him for losing a parent, and remembering what happened when losing her freedom. "I am very sorry for the losses you have in your past, but...I can help you to have your temper in check, but in this, I wish to maybe know a little more about you and the others in the castle. If you will forgive me for running away from the sudden outburst of your anger." Firestar spoke while cleaning Megatron's arm. Megatron blinked a little at Firestar's words, but soon nod and accept her apology.

"By the way, thank you for saving my life." Said Firestar while she was helping in cleaning Megatron's wound. Megatron felt surprised, no one had thanked him for anything before, but all he said to reply to Firestar was..."You're welcome." This made the others soon smile in relief, seeing a spark of hope for them and the two young pair before them. Meanwhile, in the village, Moonbeam was in her home sipping tea as she felt saddened still for what she had done, however, Paint Stroke was helping her to cheer up and to make sure to keep her healthy by bringing medicine and food she made.
