Tighnari was honestly the best person you had ever met. His smile was everything to you.
So were his ears.
His big, fluffy, plump, adorable ears. That you so badly wanted to pet. Sadly, he'd probably say no, so you asked Collei for help.
"Master Tighnari? I can relate to you, they look so soft! But unfortunately I can't help."
So you were stuck again, slightly hoping Tighnari would find you and actually let you pet his ears.
"Y/N?" You heard his voice call out. "Where are you?"
You found him near the entrance of Gandahara Ville, waiting for you with Cyno.
"Why do fathers take an extra pair of socks when they go golfing?" Cyno asked.
Tighnari sighed while you had a slight smile on your face. "Why?" You asked back.
"In case they get a hole in one."
You lightly chuckled. You and Tighnari had gotten used to this by now, but Tighnari still disliked it.
"See, Y/N likes my jokes."
You could've mistaken it - or not - but you saw Tighnari tense and his right eye twitch.
"What do you need, Tighnari?" You asked him, your gaze quickly switching from his ears to his face.
"My master would like to speak with you," he replied. "He, for whatever reason, must not tell me why."
You tilted your head, "Alright. Where is he?"
Tighnari pointed towards a man who had already been smiling at you. It was making you a bit uncomfortable.
Almost if Cyno noticed your uneasiness, Cyno elbowed Tighnari, causing him to speak up.
"If you don't wish to talk to him, we could simply tell him that."
You shrugged it off, "It's fine. I'll talk to him."
You looked at the two one more time before walking off to the brown-haired man.
Tighnari felt his heart clench. This was new, he had never experienced this before. Was it perhaps what others called 'jealousy'?
He watched you converse with his master, that feeling becoming stronger. And suddenly, he wanted to see his master bleeding on the ground. He wanted to see him cry out in agony, for his master to die.
Perhaps he was feeling 'possessive' as well?
Tighnari was unaware of what you two were talking about, which only fueled his anger. Although you and Tighnari's master were only talking about things to do with the Akademiya, to Tighnari, it looked like he was trying to take you away from him, with his constant smiles and faint flattery.
He wanted nothing more than to see his master suffer.
You waved goodbye to the man after politely declining his request to become one of the Grand Sages.
"Why did he talk to you, Y/N?" Cyno asked.
"He wanted me to become a grand sage," you stated calmly. "Although I don't think I'm fit for a job like that."
"Y/N as a sage would be an interesting sight," Tighnari agreed. "Anyway, I have things to do with Collei so I'll have to leave."
You still hadn't forgotten about his ears, you were just way too shy to tell him.
He smiled at the two of you before walking up the steps to the outer part of Gandahara Ville.
Cyno had duties as the General Mahamatra so he waved at you before leaving as well.
However, there was one thing the man had given to you. A letter.
To Y/N,
Even if you have declined my offer, I'd still like to give you this letter. The Sages have had many reports of many missing people near Gandahara Ville, if you come across anything like this, please inform us. We'll send some Matra to come help.
-Tighnari's Master
For some reason, this felt like deja vu to you, however it also felt like you were expecting something else.
On the other hand, Tighnari hadn't actually had anything to do with Collei. He just wanted to feed his desires and see his master dead.
He found the man walking out of the Ville quietly, examining nearby people.
Tighnari called out to him and motioned for the man to follow him into a more secluded area.
He didn't want to clean up another mess, so he chose a painful and quick route.
"Collei made a new recipe and wanted a different person's idea on it. Since you haven't left yet, would you like to try it?"
It was extremely suspicious of the man who didn't seem very fond of his master, was asking his master this question. Regardless, it would seem rude to decline. How much harm could it do?
A lot, apparently.
The man felt extreme pain in his heart, before limply falling to the ground. Cries of agony could be heard from him.
But did Tighnari care? No, he simply stomped on the man's heart and wished for him to die painfully. What was this new side of him? Was it only awakened by you?
It made him feel happy knowing there was nobody else in the way. It made him feel like he had you all to himself now. You were his, only his.
He smiled, completely unaware that the man under him had died.
Completely unaware that you were watching.
And you were completely unaware that he had noticed and was smiling back warmly at you.
In the end, did you ever get to touch his ears?
