"There's more to life than the pain that they made you feel."

Camille O'Connell.

I came at possibly the worst time. When I stepped through the green flames of the flu powder and fell onto the plush bear rug of the mansion, I instantly felt that everything was deserted. I turned to the only scents I could smell, that of my mother, Bellatrix, and Him.

My mother looked tired, with deep circles under her eyes, no makeup, all her roots were white, but she was smiling at me. Bellatrix was clinging to Him, who just gestured for me to come closer.

"From your appearance I can infer that you were well received, Draco," he asked, putting on a long coat that Bellatrix helped him put on. I remembered very well having seen it on my father when I was about ten "but tell me, what did you manage to find out?"

"I tried to convince them, however, they refuse to help" I half-lied, concentrating on closing my mind, as I could feel his attempts to see through me, "they say they are fine the way they are and wish to stay that way."

He grabbed the most peculiar wand I could have ever seen, and pointed it at me, I closed my eyes fearing the worst, with Nathaniel's words hanging over my head.

"I understand when I'm done at Hogwarts I'm going after the vampires," he assured, turning away. "Draco, I'm going to need one last thing from you."

I nodded giving my mom a soft kiss, he stretched out his hand and as I had been used to doing for a month, I kissed the back of it.

"I want you to bring Harry Potter from inside the castle to me," he ordered, grabbing my arm. My mother and Bellatrix clung to each other, and I felt that nauseating sensation of the apparition. We hit the ground again and he continued, "Look for him in the room of requirement, I'm sure he must be there."

I licked my lips and looked at my mother before I left. In the middle of the bushes and before they put up that barrier of magic, I managed to enter through one of the nooks and crannies of the castle, in my animagus form.

I knew I couldn't do this job alone.

The castle was just as I remembered it, but the atmosphere was dark and depressing. I ran to the Slytherin dungeons, pronounced several passwords that could be useful, until I found the right one and entered the common room, to find the surprise that it was empty.

In the men's room, I put on one of Nott's robes, because of the boys I was the only one who was the same size, hid under my hood and decided to sharpen my senses. Where was everyone else?

In the midst of this confusion, I heard Pansy's screams, claiming that something was being unfair. I approached, realizing that filch, the janitor, was putting all the Slytherin inside the cell.

I tore everything to pieces, grabbed the first two familiar boys I identified by the collar of my uniform, pulling my robes off me. Crabbe and Goyle, looked at me in surprise, however, they soon composed themselves.

"Draco!"

"Move quickly!" I shouted, stepping forward, the boys following in my footsteps, "I need to find Potter."

The room of requirement was dark, foggy, and full of stuff. I smelled it, of course I did; freshly baked pumpkin pies, dirt and courage. Potter was there, rummaging through things, trying to find something.
