The rainbow friends, part of a cartoon series and soon to be part of an attraction at an amusement park called Odd World, not only would it be a ride but also have its own area simply called Rainbow Friends Play Place. 

A little boy by the name of Ellis loved the cartoon and its characters. In school him and his friends loved chatting about the characters together. One day on the bus going home from school his best friend Jane sat next to him after another kid left.

Jane: Hey Ellis!!! Just want to say you'll be invited to my birthday party!!

Ellis: Jane wasn't your birthday in the summer? why are you having one now???

Jane: I'm not having one now Ellis!! You know how the rainbow friends place is opening next year!! Mommy and daddy said they'll have my birthday party there, i was so excited i wanted to tell you!!!

His eye lit up.

Ellis: OOO!! REALLY!?

Jane: Yeah!! Yeah!! Just Ellis promises me you won't ditch me!!!! You're my best friend and my ex best friend ditched me!! 

Ellis:  Don't worry Jane!! I pinky promise!! 

Ellis held his pinky out and they shook on it. 

Jane: Thank you Ellis!! You are the best!!

The bus soon got to his stop and when he got inside, he went searching for his parents, he found his mother Regina in the kitchen chopping vegetables. 

Ellis: Mommy!! Mommy!!

Regina: Oh! hello honey how was your day at school???

Ellis: It was good mommy!!!! I made a drawing with a rainbow!!! Mrs. Goodmen put it on the wall!!! And, and- I don't got homework!!!

Regina: Oh really?

Ellis: Yeah! Oh, and on the bus, Jane invited me to her birthday party!!

Regina: Isn't her birthday the beginning of summer. 

Ellis: that's cause her birthday is at the rainbow friend's place!!!

Regina: Oh... uh...

Ellis: Mommy what's wrong??

Meanwhile Ellis' father Anton was online, looking at houses for sale and also figuring out a price for their own house when he heard crying. 

Anton: Oh crap.... 

Anton went into the kitchen to the site of his son on the ground crying with his wife just sighing. 

Anton: So... I'm taking he heard the news.

Regina: Yup....

Ellis: DADDY!! I CAN'T LEAVE NOW!!! JANE NEEDS ME!! SHE NEEDS ME AT THE RAINBOW PLACE.

Anton: Oh god... look buddy, my current job barely makes us money, your uncle has offered me a new job with better pay-

Ellis: NOO!!! 

Regina: Oh god.... Anton, can you take him to the park or something, I need to finish dinner.

Anton: okay! come on Ellis!!! 

Ellis refused to move so Anton decided to pick him as he went limb in his arms.

Regina: Thank you honey!!

Anton: yeah, yeah sure.

Later at the local park, Anton was walking around with his son on his shoulder. Ellis had now calm down but still felt down.
