I stand in the doorway to one of the finance classes, staring dumbfounded at the two boys sitting across the table from each other inside.

No way.

What are the chances of him being here. At my University. In the same Finance department as me.

His hair was slicked back in soft waves to his neck, no longer ruffled. He wore a turtle neck, no longer showing the faint red marks I had seen on his neck last time. There was no stubble on his jaw today; just smooth, olive skin.

But this is definitely that guy. I can recognise that nasty smirk from that night he waltzed out of my apartment, my wallet and phone in his sweaty palms.

The classroom was vacant save for the two of them; the robber and a lanky looking guy with legs stretching out from either side of the desk between them.

As if drawn by a magnet, I walk over to them, my eyes already searching the robber's clothes for any trace of my belongings.

The lanky man is the first of the two that notices my approach. His glance at me makes the other man turn his head in my direction.

Having no idea what my plan was, I pause a couple of steps away from the desk.

«Why are you here?» I ask stupidly, but it was the first question I could think of. Why was he here? He didn't seem like a guy who would choose such a prestigious school to go to.

Ignoring my question, the man looks at me, then squints. «Oi. Where have I seen you before?»

I clear my throat, ignoring the blatant disrespect. This little-

«You have my phone and wallet.»

I wish my voice had come out stronger and more stable than it did at that moment, but the eyes of the lanky guy next to me, drilling a whole into the side of my face with his gaze, made me less confident for some reason.

The guy in front of me snaps his fingers once as he lean forward in his chair. «Oh, right. I knew there was something I had forgotten. Here.»

He reaches into his bag and lazily throws the phone and wallet onto the table in front of me. I barely catch my phone before it can go tumbling over the edge.

«Your mom has been spamming you with messages and calls, by the way.»

I stare at my belongings in disbelief. I never thought I would see them again. A mixture of relief and rage makes a bitter taste in my mouth. I look back up at the man who is already back to chatting with his friend.

I interrupt them. «You didn't think it was important for me to get this back as quickly as possible, then?»

His friend stops talking and glances at me. The man across from him shrugs.

I clench my jaw and lift the phone.

«Because of you, I couldn't even buy a new phone. And I had to close down my card, and order a new one. Honestly, did it even cross your mind how you taking these would affect the person you stole them from?»
