Anne looked down over the resistance. They had done it. They had won. She couldn't help but smile as Lady Olivia stepped forwards to share the news. "Members of the resistance! " she cried, "we have defeated King Andrias and Darcy! The war is over, for we have won!" Anne glanced at Sasha and marcy, who were standing beside her. They smiled at her, and she could have sworn her heart stopped in that moment. She glanced back at the now cheering crowd of resistance members. Suddenly, she felt someone gently tugging at her shirt sleeve. "Hey Anne? " asked Sprig as she looked over, "is it just me, or is the moon getting closer?" Anne looked up at the sky, her blood running ice-cold as the moon appeared to be moving towards them. She immediately grabbed the young frog, running out of the castle, onto the ground below in order to get a better look. The rest of her group followed closely behind her, all now terrified. Just then, a shaking from the ground itself caught Anne's attention. "Oh come on, " she cried, "An earthquake too?" To her surprise, however, Mother Olm rose up from the ground like some sort of worm god. "So, how'd it go? " mother Olm asked, looking down at the group. "Well, we defeated Andrias and Darcy, but now it looks like the moon is coming to kill us all. " sprig answered casually. The large Olm looked up at the sky, just as Marcy looked down at the calamity box still in her hands. Mother Olm was about to say something, when the small girl spoke up. "Uh, guys? Bad news.... " she muttered, causing Anne and Sasha to look over. To their horror, the box seemed to be fully uncharged. "Something tells me we're not going home anytime soon. " Sasha commented, grimacing slightly. "Oh no, " mother Olm cut in, "it's much worse than that. Without the box, the prophecy can't be fulfilled..." Marcy didn't hesitate to step forward, clearly intending to ask more than a few questions. However, Anne held her back, fear starting to blur her thoughts. "W-what does that mean? " she asked. Mother Olm shook her head sadly, as if trying to deny whatever she was about to say. "It means-" she paused, seemingly unable to get the words out, "it means that we're doomed. Everyone here." Anne looked up at the massive being, searching desperately for any sign of joking... However, it was clear that mother Olm was dead serious. Anne pulled Sasha and Marcy closer, shaking her head gently. "N-no, that... That can't be right... I promised my parents that I'd be back... We have to go back... " she murmured, beginning to tear up. "Anne.... " she heard hop-pop say behind her. She didn't respond. She looked back up at the moon, now even closer. Was this really it? Was this the end? It looked that way. How could she have failed so badly? She sighed, then turned, glancing at her group. "Come on. I guess we should just.... Go home, or something.. Maybe sleep till we die? I dunno. " she muttered, her voice cracking as she spoke. With that, she turned, heading back in the direction of Wartwood. If she was going to die, may as well do it in a familiar place.
