I ran as fast as I could that day, trying my best to outrun the cops. It felt like days, sprinting and listening to sirens behind me until I finally reached the forest. As I pushed myself through the woodlands, the mist made way for a wild beast. I couldn't make out what it was, but the Crescent Moon on its bare chest told me everything. It was a Phantom. Sure, it was a low-ranker, but out of all things, I had to encounter a Phantom? Still, I'd rather die than end up in a jail cell, and living's already become a hellhole; so why not take the risk?
As I lunged towards it, I ran as fast as I could. Hoping to slam my body into that monster and get it over with, but I ran. I ran for a long time. I opened my eyes, and in shock, I halted. The Phantom wasn't there? Was I dead? Was the Phantom a ghost? Could it've been a shadow? No, it shouldn't have, I clearly saw the mark ...
A strong blow of wind rushed through my ears, and it was loud. Louder than those Phantom's screeches. I clamped my ears shut as the force still made its way inside my head, ringing as if it were a loud whistle. My ear must've been covered in blood by now, the insides should've burst.
Suddenly, a hand clutched my mouth as it gripped my face painfully. I squirmed in panic, this never happened to me before, and all possibilities were rushing through my mind. Everything blurred as I struggled wildly, trying to break free of the thing's grasp — I was being kidnapped.
My kidnapper's grip tightened even further, and when I realized I couldn't get them off of me, I screamed like there wasn't tomorrow — I mean, at this rate, there might be none. The Phantom kept screeching so loud, and the smell of blood had embraced my senses.
There it was, screams — the screams from the cops that chased after me, and my own.
Stabbing needles pierced my body as claws sliced my limbs. I could feel crimson trickling down every opening of my body, even my eyes. As I tried to look around, my vision was blurred with velvet and it stung heavily.
My vocal chords had tangled up into a jumbled mess, and I was petrified. I couldn't scream anymore, I was scared, and everything hurt.
I couldn't do anything and just accepted my kidnapper, using their body as my meat shield — but as I leaned in closer to them, I felt calmer, more relaxed. A muscular body was what hugged me, but their grip was loosening.
The phantom was still there, I felt too weak to open my eyes. Soon, my kidnapper let go of me as he fell to the leafy floor, his body writhing around with agony. I could only imagine the pain he was going through.
He screamed, it felt like he was being possessed by the phantom. I could feel, no, see him curling up into a ball as he laid down sideways on the ground. I, on the other hand, was gaining strength. I knew the phantom was all over him. I could finally open my eyes, but I didn't know how much I would regret this decision.
As I opened my vision and looked around, it was horrifying. I could see cops torn down by phantoms on the ground. Blood splattering on trees. It was a murder scene.
The fresh tear of flesh was imminent as claws tore into pools of blood. Arms, legs, tongues, eyes, everything. They were torn off a singular human one by one, person by person, there was no end.
I heard a loud tear, then a crack, then a loud rustle. I turned around and screamed for dear life. I saw who seemed to be my kidnapper laying down on the ground, being torn apart by a phantom.
It bore its claws right through his head, gouging his eyes out in the process. A puddle of crimson stained the grassy floor as it spread and seeped through the soil while the phantom tore his body in half, managing to cause his organs to spill out all over. Creating an empty, bloody husk.
