The longest day

Bela woke up this morning remembering the promise he made Thana. She had to work the whole day today so she quickly got ready and in 5 am she went to the bakery. On her way there using the shortcut she saw she same bird from the other day. She only took one look and ran to the bakery. She met Thana there and helped her clean the windows before opening at 6 am. She already prepared for this long day of work. Bela started cleaning the floors as there were some bread crumbs on the floor. While she was cleaning she heard the stove turn on. She curiously asked Thana who was in the kitchen baking as Bela is the only baker in the bakery other then Azreal but today he wasn't in the village.

Bela: "Thana, who is in the kitchen?"
Thana: "Don't worry girl it's our new baker and worker, Loraline."

Bela's eyes opened wide in shock.
"Is Thana crazy? Does she not know about Loraline?" - thought Bela still sweeping the floor

Bela: "Are you sure that's a good idea?"
Thana: "I don't see what the big deal is. She took your place just fine yesterday."

"I don't trust her... What if she poisons the food" - thought Bela looking at the kitchen door

Thana: "You are too paranoid darling, chill out."
Bela: "You have no idea."

Thana opened the bakery switching the 'closed' sign with 'open'. Bela went to bake some bread trying to ignore Loraline.

"Why did she get this job...?" - thought Bela from aside the room.
"Maybe she needed the money... no, why would a witch need money?"

Loraline finished the muffins she was baking. She turned to Bela with a smirk on her face. Her eyes such a deep shade of blue a colour Bela never saw before. Her long black hair falling perfectly on her shoulders. She was walkin so slowly and gently towards Bela. Bela didn't like where this was going, but at the same time couldn't keep her eyes off of her shiny red lips that contrast her pale skin so perfectly. Her waist looked so wonderful in that uniform. Bela slowly walked away from the stove she was baking at. Just at that moment...

Thana: "Bela, Loraline! Are there any baked muffins back there!?"
Loraline: "Coming right up!" (she said in her deep addictive voice)

"SAVED!" - thought Bela
"What was she doing..?"

It was only 1 pm, she still had to go through her whole usual shift. Maybe she can finish everything fast and leave a bit early. She started baking more bread, enough to last for a whole month without coming back to the bakery. It was not enough. She worked hard. Sweating because of the heat, hands all smeared in bread dough. It was very messy in the kitchen. Loraline was also working at her stove. Bela was fearing the whole time Loraline might make a move again. She didn't wanna deal with her. She hated her. She didn't understand what Loraline was trying to do.

"Maybe she wants to seduce me and trick me into loving her, just to be eaten by her dogs." - though Bela
"I can't let my guard down." - though Bela

Lilith returned to the village and visited the bakery.

Bela: "What about your mum...?"
Lilith: "She will be alright, grandma is looking after her, I will return if things get worse."
Bela: "You won't belive who was hired as a baker..."
Lilith: "I think I might have an idea but tell me..."
Bela: (silently) "Loraline..."
Lilith: "You won't belive me but I had a feeling you were gonna say that. What will you do? What if she eats you?"
Bela: "Stop being sarcastic in serious situations."
Lilith: "You are such a drama queen."
Bela: "Whatever, my shift ends in a hour wanna wait for me? Thana can keep you company as I bake."
Lilith: "I would love to but I have chickens and pigs to feed. Sorry girl, maybe next time."

Bela's shift ends and she starts heading home. On her way there she feels someone's presence, she thinks nothing of it and ignores it. The whole night she couldn't sleep, she doesn't know the reason this time. She stays up until 4 am when she finally falls asleep. Tomorrow is weekend so she has a day off. She is very well aware of this.
