𝐼𝑡'𝑠 𝑅𝑢𝑏𝑦, 𝐷𝑢𝑚𝑏𝑎𝑟𝑠𝑒

"Gryffindor!" The sorting hat exclaimed as the Gryffindors clapped their hands for Ruby, who walked to the table and sat in between Remus and Sirius.

" Thank merlin that we're in the same house!" Remus said in a cheery tone as Ruby giggled.

"Welcome to Gryffindor, Ruby Lupin!" James said, followed by Peter and Sirius.

"Let's have the feast," Remus said as they started to dig in. Without her consciousness,Ruby found herself sometimes staring at Sirius. He was making fun of a particular Slytherin guy as James and Peter also joined in.

"Hey!" Ruby flinched at the voice as she turned to the left to see a red head girl, standing beside her with wide, beautiful smile.

"I'm Lily Evans, a friend of Remus. I hope you'll have a blasting year ahead, Ruby!" Lily said to Ruby, who smiled with gratefulness.

"Thank you, Lily! I hope even you will have an amazing year!" Ruby said.

Before Lily could say anything, James interrupted.

"Lilyflower! You're back!" He exclaimed dramatically. Lily rolled his eyes as she cursed the boy underneath her breath.

"I'll take my leave, Ruby, or else this arshole will kill me with useless nicknames for me. Bye!" Lily said as she went and sat beside a blonde. Ruby looked at James with a questioning look.

"What's with you and Lily?" Ruby asked in curiosity.

"He kinda fancies her," her eyes widened with shock. "But, you're only 12!" Ruby reasoned out.

"Love doesn't have age," James said with a dreamy look. The group laughed as Peter unknowingly hit his hand on the table as he, too, joined the laughter.

Maybe it wouldn't be bad here, after all.

A/n- now we're are officially at sixth year, whereas Ruby will be in fifth year.

"Ruby! Let's go! Bye mom, bye dad!" Remus bid his farewells as he entered inside the train. Ruby hugged her parents' cheeks and entered the train. Herself and Remus waved for them till they could see their figure disappearing. Ruby heaved a sigh.

"Let's go, shall we?" Ruby asked, to which Remus nodded. Once they reached their respective compartments, she pushed Remus aside and yelled.

"Hello, guys!" She greeted them enthusiastically. James smiled at her as he pulled her into a hug, followed by Peter. Remus stood there in disbelief as he shook his head with a smile.

"Enough of your sentiment shit, I'll get going," Remus said and walked out of the compartment.

"Buh-bye, prefect!" Ruby said.

She took a seat beside James as the trio discussed their summer vacation. As they were talking, that's when she realised about missing a certain human being.

"Where's Sirius?" Ruby asked, which made James and Peter smirk. She rolled her eyes at their expressions. James and Peter always shipped Ruby and Sirius.

"I'm just asking. I don't have any kind of stupid feelings for him, " Ruby said in a casual manner.

"He went when he saw a Gryffindor girl waiting for him." Ruby wasn't surprised.

"Why don't you try to date someone else?" Peter asked as he took a bit of his biscuit.

"If I find someone interesting, then yes, I would definitely date them," Ruby said as she took a biscuit from Peter, as he slapped her arm in a playful manner.

"Have you seen Evans?" James asked casually, which made Ruby sigh at his nth time attempts.

"No, I haven't," Ruby replied.

Suddenly, the door opened, revealing Sirius Black. Her eyes roamed around him. Collar unbuttoned, smudged lipstick and messy hair. Definitely, he was making out with some girl. This would annoy her. How Sirius takes advantage of girls. She would hate him to the core when he does stuff like that. Especially playing with their feelings.

"Uh- Ruba !" Sirius exclaimed in excitement as he greeted her with wide smile. Rose returned a fake smile as she rolled her eyes.

"It's Ruby, dumbarse," Ruby said. Sirius smiled cheekily as he took a seat beside her.

"How was your vacation, Ruba? You had a wonderful time, right?" Sirius asked, to which Ruby nodded her head.

"How was yours? I'm guessing that you had your vacation just a few minutes before, " Ruby said sarcastically, which made Sirius smirk.

"Are you jealous?" James choked on the air as Ruby patted his back.

"Of course not!" She exclaimed as her ears got red. Sirius laughed as he ruffled her in a playful manner as the quartet continued their conversation.
