Chapter 1

It's February 20th and it's not Sage's day. Sage is a nice girl and never got in trouble at school, until today in her last class. She was doing her work when the teacher asked to, your number one in my class but your grades are dropping" the teacher said in a calming voice, "Sorry Mr.Miller, I don't want you to think I'm making up an excuse of my lack in work effort".

*Time skip*

"Grandma, I'm home!" Sage yells, as she goes into the house and locks the door behind her. "Welcome home my little Star" Grandma responds as she walks into the living room. "Are you here by yourself? Where's mom?" Sage asked in a worried questionable manner" She had a meeting in Ohio tomorrow so she left a few hours ago for the airport" Grandma explained, Sage is used to her mom going out of state/town but her mom never leaves without her being there just in case Alice needs help or if she got hurt. Amy didn't have time to say home and wait so she left a note that said, "Sorry Sage but I don't have the time to stay and wait, I hope grandma is okay and you two stay safe. I'll be gone for two days and if something comes up I'll call to tell you. Please remember to wash the clothes Grandma's favorite show is on channel 12, it comes on at 4:00 pm and comes on before you leave for school. The neighbor has a package coming in the mail today and she wants you to hold on to it until she back from her trip tomorrow. Try not to burn the house down, love you, I also left y'all 300 dollars for food and for you two to have fun. :)".

*Time skip*

"It's noon and Mom should be in Ohio now, why hasn't she called to tell me she made it there?" Sage asked herself, "Oh Sage you're worrying too much, your mom is fine." Grandma says in cheer watching her show. Alice was in such a good mood she started to cry, not knowing why Alice was crying Sage started to panic. "Happy birthday James," Alice said, 'ring ring', "Hello?" Sage asked, "Hello, my name is Chris and I'm looking for Alice, is she there?" The guy on the other side said, Alice, look surprised but not in a happy way, "Tell him I'm at the store" Alice whispered to Sage, Sage looking confused about what was happening she said, "She went to the store and I don't know when she'll be back". "Ok, when she comes back tell her the people saw the golden moose, please," Chris says happily, "Yes sir, I have to go and I'll be sure to tell her" Sage did not know what was happening and the way her grandma acted when she heard his name, made Sage wonder who that guy was and what did he mean by 'the people saw the golden moose'.

*After an hour of looking*

"Grandma there you are, how did you get in here?" Sage says with a sigh of relief. Alice looked horrified and pail. Her skin was so pale you would think she was dead, "I-is he still on the phone?" Alice asked to hope for a no, "No ma'am and he said 'The people have seen the golden moose' Not sure what that means" Sage asked confused. Nothing was making sense to Sage, she hasn't been around her grandfather for years, and the last she spent time with him was when she was four on her birthday. Sage remembers hearing people call her and her grandfather the legendary golden Moses but never knew why.
