Starship IntrepidCHAPTER ONE
The Intrepid
The Starship Intrepid, an Earth vessel in the 24th century, the largest and most formidable ship ever constructed, taking 10 years to build only the elite can even dream about stepping inside this impenetrable fortress, with a crew of 1400 it also enlists species from all over the known universe who work on board, it's an impressive streamlined battleship, capable of warp 30 and is fitted with 6 powerful warp engines, the most on any battle cruiser and is why she's the fastest of all the Starships in the fleet
For relaxation there's a Holo-Deck, it's a 3D simulation within a imaginary setting in which participants can freely interact with the environment as well as objects and characters, it projects light and electromagnetic energy which creates the illusion of solid objects, when crew members have time to relax they usually catch up on sleep, but for others it's a chance to experience life on other planets, or maybe visit your own planet, you can fight with alien weaponry in an arena, climb the tallest mountain, maybe swim in the deepest oceans, the choices are endless, the skies the limit in here!
There's only a certain amount of time you can use the Holo-Deck as people get too attached to the worlds they create, so a timer is set, the minimum you can be inside for is 2 hours and the maximum is 8 hours, one crew member from the Starship Enterprise, a starship from the 23rd century, tampered with the bio metrics and was found deceased, they were inside the Holo-Deck for 12 days, once you are inside you can eat, drink, but it's not real food that you're consuming but your body and brain believes you are getting nourishment
But in the real world they died of starvation, they were just too caught up in their own fantasy to leave, so now 30 minutes before your time is about to end a simple signal is sent to the brain, there's two guards outside to make sure you do leave or they have the authority to enter and use force, but this has never happened on the Intrepid
For emergency situations when the only option is to save the crew, the front top of the battleship containing the main bridge can detach itself from the main body, this is called Saucer Separation, the crew then would take the main body and escape while the higher ranking officers with the Captain would stay in the main bridge, having more movability and and an extra layer of shield protection they would try to overcome their adversaries
The Intrepid also has 25 Shuttle Craft, a small 5 manned vessel that is used to carry equipment down to the planets surface, it has no weapon capabilities onboard but the vessel is extremely fast, plus every battleship has Escape Pods, a one person life support vehicle that once inside will blast you out into space, a homing beacon is sent out for help to arrive, you can survive in the pods for 5 days with food, oxygen and water
It has a transporter that can beam down 12 crew members at once to the planets surface, once at the planets surface each member of the crew have a side mounted communicator to talk to the ship, space shuttles and other crew members, it's radius is 10 miles and is attached by tiny but strong magnetic strips on the side of the uniforms, once in the hand and a slight flick of the wrist and the metal protective face flips open, you hear two sharp sound notes to let you know you can now relay your message
CHAPTER TWO
Equipment and Weapons
The Intrepid has an impressive array of photon torpedoes that when fired appear as silky orbs of energy, they have antimatter warheads that are triosm shielded to allow for maximum armour penetration, it's maximum yield is 25 megatons and spatial torpedoes which travel at sub-light velocity, it's maximum yield is 18.5 megatons, each devastating array of torpedoes can lock onto its target from 15 miles away away if needed
