Reading Class

chapter 1

"Oh my gosh, Melissa the new football player is joining our class tomorrow!", I said. "Chloe calm down he's probably just another dumb guy that uses smart girls to get good grades.", Melissa said. "I'm sure that's not true.", I said. "You'll be surprised.", Melissa said. I was actually kind of excited to see who it was and to see if he was handsome or not. I'm sure he was. I'm Chloe. People call me a nerd, Melissa calls me "Chloe Bear" and my mom calls me "Chlo." Since I'm such a "nerd" I don't have many friends. I'm a sophomore in high school so it would be kind of awkward to make friends right now. Mel and I met in 4th grade and been besties ever since. Mel is pretty much the only friend that I have but I don't really care. If your popular you're trying too hard and if your not popular you're not trying hard enough. I actually like school, unlike others. I think I only like it because I get all A's and pass all my classes. Mel always cheats off my work but I don't really care. Anyway...I've never really been in a relationship with a guy. I've always wanted to but no boy has ever talked to me. I think the reason I'm so excited to see the new football guy is because I want to see if maybe we have some potential to become friends or even date. After school Mel and I went to the park to have fun. Sometimes we wish for random things when we see butterflies. Mel always wished for money or good grades. Today I had a new wish. To get a boyfriend. That was my wish.
