What now?

The choir kids still, sitting around passing light conversation and small talk to pass the endless time, began to feel the never ending drag of eternity. "You know from my very strong beliefs I never thought that this...." Ocean started, pausing to take in the boundless dark matter around her. "....would be the afterlife.". The children agreed with small murmurs. "I never expected it to be this either...". Noel agreed, his poised position taking a more saddened tone. "I'm starting to miss Penny...". Constance said with a sigh. "Though she was very creepy at some moments.". "Of course with no judgement, I have to agree with you. I mean what was it with the doll?". Ocean stood up getting restless of her spot. Constance followed suit and shrugged her shoulders. "Oh- I did somewhat enjoy her song.". Constance admitted. "It was very...". "It was weirdness.". Mischa said with a cold shiver. Noel looked at his fellow choir member. "I have to agree with Mischa...but ugh! I would kill for her vocals.". He said with enforced expression. Constance couldn't help but laugh. "I enjoyed your song Mischa.". Ricky said softly. "My song?". Mischa looked at him. Ricky nodded. Noel chimed in with much enthusiasm, "Oh my lord yes! The beginning was just beautiful!". The space went silent as all the kids turned to look at Noel.
"Beautiful is not how I would put it Noel.". Ocean crossed her arms. Noel looked at her with a glaring stare. "How- could you not?". "Wait which one are we talking about?". Constance asked slightly confused. "The rap.". Ricky looked at Noel. The passionate boy stopped realizing his mistake and chuckled slightly embarrassed. "Oh right...no I was talking about the song about his...um fiancé.". Mischa turned to the boy. "You liked that song?". Noel met his eyes and paused. "How could I not? It was...a beautiful poem. Absolutely adoring.". Noel couldn't help smiled and Mischa did as well. "Right, the poet. It makes sense now.". Noel looked to his hands as he fiddled with his hands. Ocean uncrossed her arms. "Yeah I suppose it was...nice. Noel but your not a really lovey romantic kind of guy. You want....". She paused and coughed from underlying disgust. "bad love....as I remember it. Right?". Noel glared at the red head again and sighed. "Of course I do, but still....you can't have bad love without slight romance.". "Cheers to that druh.". Mischa raised his almost empty bottle. "Druh?". Noel questioned. "Yes....you would know it as friend.". Noel paused the bittersweet word hitting him. "Ah yes...druh. How could I not know?". He brushed it off with ease and forced a chuckle. Mischa was none the wiser and drank his alcohol but Ocean wasn't so easily fooled. But she brushed it off for now as Constance caught her attention. "What now?".
Ocean turned to her friend. "Now? Well....considering we have all eternity....and....I have a plan of...uhm...". She sighed defeatedly. "I have nothing....I don't know Constance. What do we do.". She slumped back into her spot and Constance frowned "..sorry.." she said sitting next to Ocean. The room fell with silence once again. Constance started to look around their darkened void and as her eyes adjusted she saw small specks. That grew...bigger? They weren't specks. Those were stars. Beautiful stars that surrounded them. "You guys....look.". The children turned their head to Constance before directing their eyes to what she was looking at. Then they started to gaze at the stars and distant light surrounding them as well. "This is epic....". Mischa said with a slight smile as he looked and Noel couldn't help but enjoy that look. Once again Ocean caught him and the cogs and brackets started to turn in her head. Never in life had the two interacted as far as Ocean knew. Mischa was always distant in his own world with Talia, unless he was pulled back by their choir director. Then Noel, he was there of course...but rarely they would speak. What was this sudden bond between the two? Of course bonds would have to be formed since they were to all stay with each other for eternity, but still. It was strange. Ocean decided to speak up. "You said you liked the beginning of Mischas song. Correct?". Noel turned his gaze to her and furrowed his eyebrows. "Well if you would listen to anything else besides the scratch of your own voice, yes. You would've heard I said that.". Constance forced back a laughter. Ocean tightened her fist. "I'm gonna ignore that, but what I wanted to know was still. Why?". Ocean said and Noel sighed annoyingly. "Why are you so persistent?". Ocean shrugged. "Just a question.". Noel choked back his smart remarks because everyone knew these two could go back and forth for literally all of eternity, but Noel had more class than that.
"It was very beautiful.". He fiddled with his hands again. "The passion and love is admirable.". Noel started and Mischa looked at him. "I repeat. How could I not? The way Mischa spoke, you could tell it came from the heart. The vulnerability and sincerity in his words was just...too great for words. You can tell he really loves...Talia.". Noel stopped his rambling. Noticing all eyes on him. Mischa touched by his words smiled and took the last swig of alcohol left. "Er- I...I just think it was very beautiful is all. What about Constance's song. I mean those belt were far from subpar. God stop asking weird questions you fox.". He stumbled and closed up his body. Ocean frowned. "I was just asking.". "You really mean that?". Mischa asked and Noel turned to him. "Well....yeah of course I do.". He let his hands go. Mischa paused and then hugged his new friend. "Thank you druh.". Noel stopped breathing for a moment being so suddenly held by Mischa. His strong arms wrapped around the passionate boy was almost too much. Noel could feel his face heat up as he returned the hug. "Oh...of course.". He pushed the words out praying his heart would calm down. Ocean got one glimpse of Noel's face and finally put two and two together. She smirked proudly and felt a satisfying move of having power over Noel now. She just had to confront him, well with everyone else out of earshot. For gods sake she wasn't a monster. But finally having influence over Noel's harsh comments was a nice idea. It was only fair, for all the awful things he's said to Ocean. Right?
