Two years to the day had passed since Judgment, the fallen angel, landed soundly on hell's reddish soil. Lucifer remembered it like it was just yesterday, it was a memory she replayed regularly. She didn't see Judgment all that much, especially after her training began, but something about her reminded her so much of the angels she once knew.
The Queen sat at her desk on this day, filling out paperwork. Bureaucracy was the only constant in her demonic existence, and it was rather unpleasant. She dealt with it, however, someone had to keep Hell running. But her thoughts began to drift, more and more away from the boring papers on her desk. She took one big swig of wine, and made an executive decision after that. Lucifer dialed her phone quickly.
"Pandemonica!"
Her tired secretary answered, "Yes, my lord?"
"Finish my paperwork for me, will you? I have an important matter to tend to."
"Of course, your majesty." The coffee-deprived employee groaned.
"You're a doll, dear."
Lucifer hung up the phone and hopped from her throne, knowing exactly where she was going. She walked the halls of the palace, each demon she passed by bowing and saluting her on sight. The Queen paid little attention to them as she walked the hall and down a flight of spiraling stairs, heading into what was so lovingly called "The Depths".
It was where the prisoners were kept, and where souls who had yet to be judged were prepared for their days in court. The place reeked of burning brimstone, a smell that would make anyone not used to it suffocate with how strong it was. Another long hallway led to the room she wished to be in: The infernal court.
Lucifer wandered into the court, putting a hand on the sin machine and continuing on her path. She began to hear the sound of clattering mats and incessant shouting, she knew she was close. The Queen elegantly entered the training bay, watching Justice egg on Judgment to hit her for a few minutes before either of them noticed her presence.
"Hey, I ain't gonna get mad at you, I'm asking for it."
"Justice..."
The high prosecutor gave her a charming look, "C'mon, Judge. You want this job, right? You gotta be big and tough! So what're you waiting on? The sinner to live a second life, hit me!"
Judgment did as ordered, punching Justice directly in the stomach, causing the high prosecutor to heave over for a second and fall on her ass. Justice began to laugh hysterically, and helped herself to her feet. Lucifer snapped her fingers to garner their attention.
"Oh! Lucy!" Justice left the boxing ring as soon as she heard the snap, walking up to Lucifer like a child to their mother.
"How is the training going? And where are your sunglasses?"
"Those? I took 'em off. Can't risk breaking them, and the training's going pretty well. Who would've thought an angel would hit like a sledgehammer? She almost made me puke earlier."
"Yes, I saw."
Justice chuckled, "Anyway, what're you doing here? Shouldn't you be doing big important Hell stuff?"
"I thought I would see how it was going. Have you brought her to the sin machine yet?"
"Uh... about that..."
Judgement spoke up, "Are we done, Justice?"
"Yeah, you can take a break now."
Lucifer looked down at Justice, a face of pure disappointed confusion on her face. "Why not?"
